Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm. Picnic at the Farm. It's already late May and we have had very little warmth to get the berries growing. Hopefully that will be changing soon. The earliest red raspberries are flowering and I am still expecting them to be ready to pick in late June. The blueberries are looking wonderful! They have flowered and are loaded with developing fruit. I think they will start mid-June through July. A reminder that we will have new weekday hours beginning this season.

Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm. Picnic at the Farm. What a great afternoon for a day trip! We are located 7 miles south of Des Moines off Highway 65-69. Past the Summerset State Park, you will drive over the Middle River Bridge. You'll see the signage for the Summerset Winery just after crossing the bridge. Tour groups are welcome. Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm. Saturday, November 18, 2017. 10 am to 2pm. Picnic at the Farm. We started growing red raspberries in 2005 for our own use with 40 plants in a new space along our hay field. Each year more plants were added including other varieties - black raspberries, lots of blackberries (my new favorite) and blueberries (now 7 years old, yumm). VISIT OUR FARM FOR HEALTHY FLAVORFUL BERRIES. TUESDAY (New Hours) 8 AM TO 1 PM. 8 AM TO 1 PM. SATURDAY 10 AM TO 4 PM. SUNDAY 1 PM TO 5 PM.
