Edible Acres: April 2010

http://edibleacres.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Hello to all and Happy Spring! Even though we have still been getting frost in some evenings and early mornings that hasn't stopped us. We have a new greenhouse and a new (to us) tractor. The ground looks great, the greenhouse is getting filled up. Things are looking good! We have a few more opening but are filling fast so if you know anyone that is still interested let them know. We will probably start the newsletter in May so be looking for that soon. Edible Acres: June 2010

http://edibleacres.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 3, 2010. It is getting closer and closer to our new season starting. Yeah! I don't know about you guys but I have been craving those fresh veggies for a long time. We will send out an e-mail to all shareholders when we know when the first basket will start so be on the look out for that soon. Last year it started 2nd week of June. We hope to be close to that. The lettuce isn't popping up as quickly as hoped but maybe when the rain slows down we may see more growth? View my complete profile.

Edible Acres: August 2009

http://edibleacres.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 9, 2009. We are half way through our season and everyone seems to be very happy with what they are receiving. We only recieved 2 replies back on the "weed and feed" so decided not to go through all the work in planing, orgainizig and preparing for this when it seems like most people are going to be very busy through the rest of the summer. We will keep everyone informed on our end of the season/fall get together as we start planing it. We enjoy seeing everyone each week @ pick ups!

ॐ Better Version of Me: Purple, Mustaches, and Paris

http://betterversionofme-tracie.blogspot.com/2013/11/purple-mustaches-and-paris.html

Purple, Mustaches, and Paris. That is the theme for my daughter's room. We are almost done so I wanted to post some updated photos. I wanted to use a lot of the furniture we already had but she had a junior loft bed that she had outgrown. We found this one used on Craiglist for $50. I painted it and added new drawer pulls. Trunk and rugs I got on sale at Meijer. White shelf for $1 at Goodwill. The cubbies and shelving unit where from her old room, I painted them to update. So I brushed on the second coat.

ॐ Better Version of Me: Flexatarian Cooking

http://betterversionofme-tracie.blogspot.com/2015/03/flexatarian-cooking.html

As most of you know, I have been a Flexatarian for a long time. I finally talked my husband into reducing the amount of meat we eat to once or twice a week. We still will eat fish, eggs, and cheese. Over the past 6 months I have been trying out a lot of new meat replacements and even some cheese replacements and am quite happy with the things I have made. Here are a few of my favorites:. This Chicken Stylee Seitan. These are some of the things I made with it. I have also been making fermented nut cheeses...

I have been trying to make a smoothie a day. Mostly I have been doing dairy-free but I was craving yogurt today. This is fabulous! 1 hand-full of baby carrots. 1/2 cup more to thin almond milk (I use unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze). 1/2 cup Libby 100% Pumpkin. 1 cup plain fat free Greek Yogurt. 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice. Optional: 2 tbsp chia seeds. Blend carrots and almond milk in blender until smooth. Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. Book Review: Moms Who Drink And Swear. The book is...

ॐ Better Version of Me: January 2013

http://betterversionofme-tracie.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Upcycling for the holidays: Candy Cane Hearts. I had bought a bunch of candy canes right before Christmas and they did not get eaten. Since I have started the 17 Day Diet again, I cannot have them. I did a search and found that you can melt them into hearts. I cannot find the original post but it is so easy. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Some of the canes were broken so we placed them on the baking sheet, placed a dish towel over them, and whacked them with a hammer. I then shaped them into this heart.

ॐ Better Version of Me: November 2013

http://betterversionofme-tracie.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

My daughter has High School Musical fold up chair that we decided to reuse when we redid her room. I completed the slip cover today and am really happy with how it turned out. I didn't even use a pattern. Back: I used an loop and eye hook to secure the corner under the bow. Sewed the back and front of the back of the chair together so it will slip over the back and then just finished the seams. It was a very easy project. Reflection of sky in water droplet on kohlrabi. Purple, Mustaches, and Paris. These...

ॐ Better Version of Me: October 2013

http://betterversionofme-tracie.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

We started redoing my daughter's room recently. Well, we actually gutted our whole upstairs, so it is a huge project. I decided rather than buy her a lot of new items to reuse as many as I could. This involved a lot of painting. This chair is a Hannah Montanna folding chair. I am going to just finish the edges of this fabric and make a slip cover. These are two of the four cubby shelves she has. Still the process of painting this, needs one more coat. It was white. I can't wait until the drywall is up an...
