Edible Existence: Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Soup
http://www.edibleexistence.com/2010/10/sweet-and-spicy-pumpkin-soup.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Soup. We Delshads are big fans of soup! When it's cool outside, there's just nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of soup. This was, however, my first time making pumpkin soup. I've seen a lot of winter squash soups floating around the blogosphere lately and this Halloween afternoon I decided to give it a go! Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Soup. A 2 pound (approx.) pie pumpkin, peeled, seeded and diced. 2-3 Cups of water. Olive oil for coating the pot. 4) Ad...

Edible Existence: Butternut Squash Bread
http://www.edibleexistence.com/2010/10/butternut-squash-bread.html
Saturday, October 2, 2010. What are we doing with all of this squash? One of my favorite breakfasts (my breakfast today actually) is roasted butternut squash with toasted pecans, served over sauteed greens. I simply peel, seed (save the seeds for toasting like pumpkin seeds! Butternut squash also store incredibly well - they will last for months at room temperature - so we are stalking up for the winter! 2 Tablespoons Ground Flax Seed (optional - could also substitute wheat germ). 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt.
Edible Existence: Slightly Spicy Roasted Butternut Squash
http://www.edibleexistence.com/2011/10/slightly-spicy-roasted-butternut-squash.html
Saturday, October 15, 2011. Slightly Spicy Roasted Butternut Squash. Apologies for the lengthy lapse in postings, life has been crazy busy. We hope everyone’s autumn is off to a great start. For the last few weeks, we have been enjoying the bounty of fall produce – apples, pears, kale, brussel sprouts, turnips, and parsnips. One of our absolute favorites is butternut squash. We love it in everything from soups. Slightly Spicy Roasted Butternut Squash. 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil. 4 garlic cloves, minced.

Our Family: March 2012
http://encalade.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. We decided to take a trip to San Antonio for Spring Break. We left Monday morning and arrived there that afternoon. The girls are at such a great age to travel. We only had to make one bathroom stop. They were awesome in the car, watching movies, reading, singing, and playing their DS's. Help me, God! While we rode. She did ride some little kid roller coasters after that. We thoroughly enjoyed all the shows. My favorite was Azul with all the magical partnerships of be...The next ...
Our Family: Disney World
http://encalade.blogspot.com/2012/12/disney-world.html
Saturday, December 01, 2012. During Thanksgiving break our family and Wes's parents went to Disney World. On the way to Florida we spent two nights at Wes's great aunt's house in Alabama. We enjoyed our visit with his great Aunt and her children and grandchildren. We watched an Alabama game, took a long stroll through her neighborhood, shared some meals together, and had a lot of laughs. Abby pushing Bonnie in Aunt Nette's neighborhood. We are extremely thankful to Nana and Paw Paw for an amazing trip!
Our Family: Avery and Abby's Birthday Parties
http://encalade.blogspot.com/2013/08/avery-and-abbys-birthday-parties.html
Thursday, March 14, 2013. Avery and Abby's Birthday Parties. This year both girls wanted their own slumber party with 4 of their good friends. Both parties were very similar. The girls ate pizza, had cake and ice cream, watched movies, played games, giggled lots, and made a craft. The girls and I picked up some cardboard 3D letters. Each girl got the beginning letter of their name. We used mod podge and scrapbook paper to cover them. Jeff and Amy McKissick. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Our Family: June 2011

Saturday, June 11, 2011. End of the Year Awards! On the last day of school the girls had an awards ceremony which is called the Koality Celebration - a play off of "quality celebration". They both finished out the year strong. They each received these awards for all of the nine weeks through out the year. Koality Attendance (Abby didn't receive this one nine weeks because she was sick for 3 days in a row, which isn't too bad for a kindergartner.). We were extremely proud of them! Wednesday, June 08, 2011.
Our Family: December 2012
http://encalade.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 26, 2012. We had a busy but fulfilling Christmas break. Soon after school got out for Christmas break, the Hicks came to visit. Dad and Gina came over to celebrate Christmas as well. We also went to Arlington for one night to celebrate with Wes's family. We did our traditional singing of songs about Jesus' birth and Abby read the birth of Jesus for us all. It was a blessing to be with so many family members this Christmas Season! Our Family: September 2011
http://encalade.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. After a very busy summer, I was ready for a routine, and ready to be home for a while. Having a youth minister for a husband makes for packed summers. Don't get me wrong, I do love it, but it is nice to have a regular routine now and to not be on the road so much. I did the math and figured that we were out of town a total of 30 days for camps, mission trip, and our vacation. Time has flown by! Small groups will resume at our house next Sunday. I love this group and can't ...

Saturday, August 27, 2011. I got to help with the crafts during the day camp which was lots of fun. Janaga came up with all the crafts that had a special spiritual meaning for each one. That made it much more meaningful than some random fun crafts. This year they also incorporated a another part into CTW where the kids prayed through out the building about many different topics, went through scenarios of making good decisions, and donated items for a Children's Hospital. Avery, the Littlest Angel. 7 Step...

Friday, October 14, 2011. A Toothless Grin and www. churchsongs.com! One day last week, Abby came home with a missing tooth. Mrs. Jackson (known for her great teeth pulling skills) had pulled it for her at school and placed it in a cute purple treasure chest. I told the superintendent who goes to our church that Mrs. Jackson deserved a raise for all the teeth she pulls at Hyde Park Elementary. Anyways it was pretty entertaining. What really made me laugh out loud was at the end of one of her own crea...

http://encalade.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 15, 2013. We had another great year watching the girls play soccer. Each year it is neat to see the growth of all the girls on the team. Avery's team won the end of the season tournament. They defeated their rivals 2-1. Avery scored the first goal in the first two minutes of the game. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
