Endurance Edinburgh: Swim, Bike and Run from Athens of the North. Posted by Will Ross. Sunk into the caldera of an ancient volcano, Edinburgh is teeming with endurance opportunities. Its immediate and neighbouring terrain provides enough for a solid week of training, matched by a depth of hospitality to relax around. The waters of Leith also provide canal-like running from the town centre. Edinburgh’s major running track is a Meadowbank Sport Centre. And can be accessed for a 5 drop-in fee. For a coffee ...

Nothing to see. 🙂. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. 29 March, 2013. I’m back in London for the Marathon, which is tomorrow, Sunday 25th April. Again, I’ve been lucky to get a place that does not require sponsorship, through my excellent running club, Edinburgh Athletic Club. This year, there are two charities I’m supporting:. My second charity is the Stroke Association. I’m supporting them for close personal reasons. Here’s the sponsorship page. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. On Saturday...

Running Hot - 2.35.00: July 2012
http://richard-running-hot.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Running Hot - 2.35.00. Sunday, 1 July 2012. Week 3: Keeping Faith. It can always be hard when starting a new training programme, especially when following a month off. It’s also difficult to see all my training mates running and racing superbly. I don't resent their pace or success at all, in fact I am proud of the gang! I just wish I was up there with them, as I was before. It makes sense that I am tired and my reps are slower, but it is just hard for the mind to take! Or sore spots. This week I hit...

Running Hot - 2.35.00. Wednesday, 28 April 2010. Wednesday 28 April 2010: Gentle running and wishing for a dog's life. Mileage: 7.5 miles. AM: 375miles, PM:3.75miles. I woke up tired this morning. I was up late last night sorting out more fundraising, blog and web stuff. Even a cup of coffee didn't help shift the heavy feeling from my body. Getting changed into my running gear and walking into the bedroom to find Jack curled up on the bed (see picture) did not help. I am now quite nervous about the race ...

Running Hot - 2.35.00. Monday, 25 June 2012. Week 2: Feeling like a runner again. My second week completed! I am beginning to feel like a runner again! Towards the end of the week the annoying niggles and stiffness in my legs had started to iron themselves out and following my big Thursday session I am now full of confidence as I move into three very big weeks of training. There are quite a few things I love about running (blatantly obvious statement, I know! Thankfully, Colin, had said he was up for run...

Running Hot - 2.35.00: February 2011
http://richard-running-hot.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Running Hot - 2.35.00. Thursday, 17 February 2011. Back to training at last! So after eight mentally tough weeks I was allowed to take those first gentle running steps back. My first two sessions have been a combination of jogging and walking. Getting back on the cross trainer on Wednesday was a real anti-climax, as all I wanted to do was get out and run again, but I knew I would get another chance on Thursday as I had felt no reaction to my first run. Tuesday, 1 February 2011. Sometimes things go wrong.
