Doing good deeds - This Space for Rent
http://subversivegrrl.livejournal.com/125332.html
This Space for Rent. Jan 4th, 2008 at 1:31 PM. Tomorrow afternoon I'm doing my good deed for the month of January - I'm participating in the transport of two rescue dogs from Danbury, CT to Dayton, OH and Springfield, MO. This is Nicky, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is described as a "good front seat driver, steers nicely." He'll be staying in Dayton. 6 comments Leave a comment. Jan 4th, 2008 09:49 pm (UTC). What sweet looking dogs. I'm glad that you (and others) can help them. Jan 4th, 2008 10:03 pm (UTC).

Theme Park Experience: Brian Peterson interview
http://themeparkexperience.blogspot.com/2009/04/brian-peterson-interview.html
Thursday, April 16, 2009. A couple of years into writing. I heard from Dan Sinker at. About a book in the works on nineties hardcore. Details were scant, but I had heard it was about heavy hardcore bands. So my book on non-heavy post-hardcore bands would probably not conflict with it. A few months later, I got in touch with its author, Brian, and we've kept in touch ever since. Brian's book is called. Burning Fight: The Nineties Hardcore Revolution in Ethics, Politics, Spirit, and Sound. I already knew a...

Chapter MCXC: In which I actually name a favorite book. - emily's journal
http://bradamant.livejournal.com/320926.html
Soon to be a major religion. Chapter MCXC: In which I actually name a favorite book. Dec 3rd, 2008 at 11:03 AM. If you asked me to name my favorite books, I'd have to agonize over it for a while, and then I'd name some titles that you've probably read, like Pride and Prejudice. But I'd also definitely name Suburban Nation: The Rise of Sprawl and the Decline of the American Dream. Originally uploaded by bradamant. Theme Park Experience: The Nostalgia Trap
http://themeparkexperience.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-nostalgia-trap.html
Saturday, April 04, 2015. As a follow-up on my thoughts on the Bomb Factory reopening, I wrote a lot of words. About the dangers of investing too much time to nostalgia. Basically, the past was great, but it wasn't all great. So let's look forward to what's next. And I quoted Billy Joel. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thanks for checking out my site. Theme Park Experience: Ghost Hunting
http://themeparkexperience.blogspot.com/2015/07/ghost-hunting.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. The past couple of months have been very productive. Probably more than ever before, which has been good for some peace of mind. Between the regular work hours at my full-time job and the freelance writing for the Observer. There hasn't been much time to sit around and think. It's just been go, go, go and go to sleep at some point late at night. Some of the most recent articles that I most proud of had been in the works for a while. The story. It was "Why not? A big reason why this...

Tuesday, January 27, 2009. UNFORTUNATE JUXTAPOSITION FOUND AT USWEEKLY.COM TODAY. Saturday, January 03, 2009. Erich Von Stroheim's 1922 films Greed. Can make many claims to greatness. Among them: it's the first great butchered movie masterpiece and the first great movie about dentistry. It's also a great city movie. Adapting Frank Norris' novel McTeague. Here's the shot that I love (and, as above, pardon the poor image quality. I'm working from YouTube since the film is, confoundingly, not on DVD. Imagin...

Theme Park Experience: This Road I'm Travelling
http://themeparkexperience.blogspot.com/2015/08/this-road-im-travelling.html
Monday, August 03, 2015. This Road I'm Travelling. As summer draws to a close, I have my eyes set on another long roadtrip. Last year, I drove all the way to St. Louis, a town I had never visited before. This year, it's another town I've never visited: Nashville. I'd been close to Nashville before (Memphis, to be specific), but I've never been there. Talking to Brandon Curtis, a former Dallas resident about his current projects, we openly talked about grief as he continues life, thinking all the time abo...
