In the early 2000's many Councils across the UK reviewed the arrangements they had for model aircraft enthusiasts to fly planes on their land. We fly from an area in the centre of the Racecourse at Epsom Downs, a couple of miles south of Epsom town centre. Our location is shown on the interactive map below. The balloon icon shows the position of the westerly end of the take-off strip for radio-control flyers. Google Maps have recently updated their images for this area, so the current r/c strip is now visible and the old r/c strip no longer appears in the images. Riding on Epsom Downs. Epsom and Walton Downs: hack ride no.2. This is the second hack ride around Epsom and Walton Downs. It's about 13¾km (8½ miles) long, and might take you from 1–2 hours. If you wish, you can combine it with hack ride no.1. 8212; only a short stretch of ride is covered in both — which would make for a total ride of 22½km. 38th SE Area Indoor Meeting 2013. Over 200 people enjoyed a day of indoor free flight at the Crawley K2 Leisure Centre on sunday 3 February.
