Sunday, August 11, 2013. Boender Family Vacation Part 1. Loaded up and ready to depart. We made it to Oshkosh, WI on the first night. The kids and guys went swimming and the girls went to an outlet mall for some shopping. The next morning we had some time to kill so we stopped at a nice wooden park and very small zoo. The guys had as much fun as the kiddos did. At the zoo we found a great place to take a cousin picture. Kristin found us an amazing cabin that fit our family perfectly! The Story of Us.

Thursday, July 24, 2014. 4th of July Weekend. For the Fourth of July weekend we went to see my sister's family in IL. On Friday we went to Mequoketa Caves. It was a very neat place and I would highly recommend it. The kiddos were ready to go back the next day. Grammy giving Adalli a pep talk before she entered the cave. She was getting pretty nervous that is was going to be scary. We were able to climb into any cave we were brave enough to explore. Just playing with my camera's up close abilities. Jaden ...

Monday, July 22, 2013. Here he is with his finished project. Thanks to a Grandpa that owns a hardware store and some good friends that were willing to pitch in some extra time to help cut pieces he is going to State Fair! We are very excited! Gideon also did a return bucket bottle calf. "Moon" is a little heifer that he took to the fair last year as just a little calf. It has been a great experience and Gideon has learned lots from it. Grandpa Boender was very helpful on Monday night! On the last day is ...

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Chopping Triticale and Turning 9. I got a lesson in chopping Triticale the other day when I said "You have to mow it first? Obviously I didn't grow up a farm girl. :) Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband that enjoys teaching me new things! We only had one afternoon to work on this because it rained us out again. That has happened a lot this year! The girls loved watching the guys work! That way my girls will know how to chop Triticale before they are my age. :). While BJ wa...

Wednesday, July 2, 2014. We packed up last week Wednesday night and headed to Ledges state park near Boone. We stopped in Ames at Hickory Park BBQ before making it to our destination a little after 9:30pm. The next morning we woke up, made breakfast and headed to the hay expo. Next time I would like to spend more time at Ledges and less at the Hay expo :). One of the booths was giving out sunglasses and sunscreen! I think that is a really good way to advertise. The kiddos thought so too! The Story of Us.

Monday, March 4, 2013. Dresses, Slides, Sleds, and Dances. Little girlies modeling their Easter dresses. We just got a new mattress after fighting our old one for long enough. So on a snowy Friday we made a cardboard slide down our staircase. It was super fast, and pretty hard to get back up after you rode down. The kiddos all enjoyed it even tho they got a few cardboard burns. Adalli enjoyed watching everyone but wasn't real fond of going down the hill. BJ Boender Family Blog. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, September 30, 2013. Back into a Schedule (kinda). Wow, lots has happened in life since the last time I blogged. This is a pretty random selection of the last four or so weeks of our lives. First day of school pictures! Gideon is in 6th, Rachel is in 3rd and John is in 2nd. Wow, where has the time gone? Adalli doesn't start preschool until next fall but she thinks she is ready to take it on. On this particular day Rachel was her teacher. This is the last batch of fresh sweet corn for the summer.

Monday, August 19, 2013. Boender Family Vacation Part 2. Loaded up and ready for a ride! I thought this looked funny. All the rangers and four wheeler filling up at the gas station. Kurt and Emily did a great job of leading us through all the trails! This is a lighthouse on Peninsula Point on lake Michigan. It was really neat because you could climb up all the way to the top and look out. The kiddos all beat us up to the top. The view from the lighthouse on one side. Adalli was a trooper on the hike!

Thursday, May 2, 2013. Random Pictures of Our Busy Times. I have sat down to blog at least 4 times in the last day and a half. Finally I am getting to it! Adalli helped me make cookies for Gideon to take to school for his 11th birthday! Every time I stepped away she would take a big spoonful of the chocolate. After Gideon's cookies she still wanted to "cook" so I gave her some dry oatmeal and she stayed busy for another half hour or so. Don't worry he was still busy, just not planting! Planting officiall...
