Edu4Change is currently running in Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. In Ethiopia, Edu4change works with two partner organisations:. MKC-RDA – http:/ www.mkc-rda.org/ – CEO Mathewos Belissa. Hope Enterprises – http:/ www.hopeenterprises.org/ – CEO Zenebe Ayele. MKC-RDA is linked to the Meserete Kristos Church and runs a variety of projects, primarily in rural areas. Woord en Daad supports 4 centers for Alternative Basic Education and Functional Adult Literacy in Jeldu (near Ambo). Edu4change in Sierra Leone.

The overarching objective of all our courses is to strengthen and improve the skills, knowledge, attitudes and capabilities of teachers, school leaders, educational institutions, students, and communities. This can lead to behavioral changes that enable them to influence and reshape their educational context, contributing to reduced levels of poverty. In short: the courses aid the development of excellent teachers and school leaders who can make a difference to the lives of their students and communities.

Edu4Change is a joint project by Woord en Daad and Driestar Educatief. It aims to improve the quality, methods and relevance of education in developing countries. The project currently operates in Sierra Leone. Together with our partner organizations, we have developed training courses to equip teachers and school leaders. In 2015 the developing process of the Edu4change courses has been finalized by updating the current courses based on the experiences in Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. In these countries six local trainers has been trained and are now well equipped to provide the trainings in their own countries without external assistance. In 2015 the course ‘Children in need of help’ has been provided in Nigeria commissioned by De Verre Naasten. Facts & Figures.
