WCF Asynchronously calling a service method from your client. May 17, 2011. May 17, 2011. From my WCF service I ran the hosting application to start the service. I then used svcutil to generate my client proxy: svcutil /async /config:app.config /namespace:*,SvcUtilProxy /out:TaskServiceProxy.cs http:/ localhost:8080/Tasks.
