Classy Classroom: August 2013
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 16, 2013. I was determined to go in over the summer and organize all of the closets and cabinets! I was "blessed" with 25 years of "stuff" that the teacher before me left! I really wished I had taken before pictures! Math Manipulative were all in baggies just shoved in a closet, It took me a whole afternoon to sort and put in bins what I knew 3rd graders would use. I actually have the top shelf empty for future purchases! Now onto the rest of the closets! For all to enjoy! Get it before I ...

Classy Classroom: QR Code First
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2014/01/qr-code-first.html
Friday, January 3, 2014. December has been a VERY busy month! Foot in a cast! Christmas to prepare for! I had a wonderful time going to see 5 other teachers in our district. VERY talented educators that make learning exciting! This really pushed me to try and incorporate QR codes into my classroom. Figure out how to make the QR codes. I knew that I wanted to do a Place Value test Prep. So I used QRStuff.com. This was so easy to use! Can't wait to use it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Teaching To In...

Classy Classroom: September 2013
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 21, 2013. Place Value and Eggs! Okay, so they really don't go together! But this is what my 3rd grade kiddos are working on right now! They all scream with delight and "gross" comments. We then do a "sort" using our changes cards. This is just a quick hands on visual for them. Last years class I had task cards. I don't have this one posted yet (maybe this weekend). However, would be happy to give it to the first 4 people that comment below. But I really think they got it! Center a hre...

Classy Classroom: April 2013
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 21, 2013. As some of you know, I was moved into 3rd grade in January due to a teacher retiring! Big change from 5th grade to 3rd grade. I was a little stressed to say the least! I knew that state testing was starting on April 8th and my goal was to get the kids ready for that big day! I didn't want to do the typical test prep review that everyone does with packets, so I went to my favorite source.Teacher Pay Teachers! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Birthday and a Giveaway! Classy Classroom: March 2013
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 24, 2013. I love to incorporate Text Features in my nonfiction reading. Our school recently purchased a set from Time For Kids Biographies and Science Scoops. I LOVE these books! They allow me to differentiate instruction while still concentrating on text features. I stressed the front because I have a 3rd graders! I then gave them the example page and they had to cut and place by the text feature. This is key.I had to check them before they glued to make sure they were correct! I know I am...

Classy Classroom: Evernote in my classroom
http://faithsiegristclassyclassroom.blogspot.com/2014/02/evernote-in-my-classroom.html
Saturday, February 8, 2014. Evernote in my classroom. How many of us scribble notes about students and then put them somewhere to never be found again? I knew I need to change how I tracked items in my classroom! I found an amazing app called EVERNOTE. It has changes how I organize files, notes from kids, tracking reading skills and everything in between. I know that there is so much that I could do with Evernote and I am so excited to stretching myself with new technology! February 9, 2014 at 11:55 AM.
