1999年的夏天，室友的朋友來串門子，想找人一起去尼泊爾，我很快就報了名，就這樣尼泊爾成為我第一個自助旅行的國家。記得我們四個女生剛出機場時，立刻一堆人擁上來推銷行程，一陣混亂之後，我們選了其中一個看起來老實的，幫我們安排接下來的旅程。路途中充滿許多難忘的回憶：跟當地人擠巴士、在奇旺國家公園給大象載過河、魚尾峰的山區看飛蛾撲奶茶、健行路上兩腳被水蛭咬的血痕斑斑，最後一站加德滿都混亂的車陣也很驚人…。我們的導遊Dipak和我們年紀相仿，已經結婚有小孩，他很愛在旅行途中和我們玩一些數學的小遊戲，發覺他真的是個很聰明的小伙子。回到加德滿都後，Dipak也大方地讓我們去他家，拜訪他的妻子和新生的女兒。那時我就想，如果聰明的Dipak是在歐美國家出生，他的人...和導遊成了Facebook朋友後，知道他回到加德滿都自己開了一家旅行社，還會為心臟病的病人做健行募款的活動，聊了一下知道原來他的妻子有風濕性心臟病，當然知道我是心臟科醫師時，也覺得有種巧合感。突然想到，1999年旅行回來後，台灣就發生了921大地震。訂閱：張貼留言 (Atom).

散落在海岸線上的，是二十多年前在外海擱淺的貨輪的殘骸。曾經沉入海底，幾次颱風，又把它沖上岸，這些殘骸，有人說是巨大垃圾、有人說可以變黃金，我說，那是人與自然交戰失敗的遺物。過了廢船沒多久，我們到達出風鼻，從地圖上看恆春半島，東邊最突出的海岬就是它。我站在海岸邊抬頭仰望，見不到頂，友人說上面是一片草原，也就是一般所稱的出風谷大草原，會形成草原因為那裡有强勁的季風，讓灌喬木不易成長，反而矮小的野草容易生存。我們站在平台下方，也能看到風的侵蝕力，那一層層的沈積岩面，或裸露、或崩落，都是風的傑作。那天海邊的風並不強，若是冬天來時，出風鼻這裡的風，足以讓人寸步難行。過了出風鼻後，腳下走的，是一階又一階淺淺的平台，跨過一階，就是跨過一次沉積的歷程，經老師說明，那是單斜. 抬升再加上風蝕的結果，才造成如此特殊的景象。再往前走，看到許多蜂窩頭的岩石，因為岩石的質地不同，被風或海水侵蝕的程度也不同，才形成那大大小小的坑洞。註：*單斜：水平的岩層向某一方向傾斜；地層皺褶的構造還有向斜和背斜。訂閱：張貼留言 (Atom).
