EES Staff Development: Radio Reading
http://eesstaffdevelopment.blogspot.com/2011/12/radio-reading.html
Friday, December 9, 2011. Often it is difficult to find authentic rereading opportunities to improve fluency. I came across a practice outlined in Fluency Instruction: Researched-Based Best Practices. Here is how it works! Students are assigned segments of the text, which they are to practice reading. After they have practiced they develop questions to ask their peers regarding that section. The next day students read there section aloud, as if they are radio announcers.
