Then, more than a century later, in 1953, something amazing happened. John Hunt of Britain was chosen to lead an expedition to the top of Everest. He headed two pairs. One got within 300 feet of the summit, but had to turn back because of exhaustion. However, the other pair was something else. Is proudly powered by Blogger.

The base, to be exact, as the higher regions would be too cold for any sort of life. The Sherpas, people who live very near to the mountains, are the farmers of what grows on the base. Sherpas farm crops such as corn, barley, wheat, and potatoes, their main crop. But the Sherpa didn't just farm crops. They also farmed animals! Farms On Mt. Everest Base.
