NikkoStudio: May 2010
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 16, 2010. I'm just getting back into the process of filming while I paint. It seems as though it helps me focus since I don't want to waste a bunch of time futzing about while filming, which in turn makes editing a much larger pain in the ass. So here are a few still shots from a video that will be posted very soon. Some sort of strange vision pod thing. Red, magenta and orange highlights applied to a rounded form type thing. NikkoStudio: (Mostly) Removing Color.
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2012/03/mostly-removing-color.html
Friday, March 16, 2012. 4 small 18x24 inch works on paper with very little color. An actual painting, 24x30 inches, inspired by the above exercises. This piece had already begun with a lot of saturated color, so I thought it would make an interesting background for what I now wanted to do. The bits of color remaining are simply areas that were not completely covered up, and provide a nice hint of color, while keeping it a very secondary element. March 19, 2012 at 9:29 AM. NikkoStudio: November 2009
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 1, 2009. From oil to acrylic. Plus, I like to work with a lot of wet over dry, transparent layers, which is VERY time consuming if you work with oils. Trust me, I have done it. Not a good time. From oil to acrylic-. A bit of sanding to rough up the surface, some layers of spray paint to cover rejected areas and begin the underlayment for some new elements, and acrylics, here we come. I hope the damn thing holds up. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Explore the studio space.

NikkoStudio: October 2009
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. I just had to post something. I feel a bit strange here since this is first blog I have ever created. I guess I will simply begin with an image or three of a recent "work in progress". Hopefully here I can achieve some sort of coherent unfolding of this messy business of creating art. We'll see. NikkoStudio: Works in progress.
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2012/03/works-in-progress.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. I don't know why I like to show images of unfinished paintings. I always seem to get myself in trouble. Someone will always ask me about a certain piece, and I end up having to let them down gently, telling them that the work they so love looks nothing like the image they saw in the first place. I guess it's about being comfortable with exposure. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Explore the studio space. LET THE MADNESS BEGIN. View my complete profile. New goodies have arrived.

NikkoStudio: April 2012
http://nikkostudio.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Art, Artists, Bigotry, Hate and the Passing of Thomas Kinkade. Art, Artists, Bigotry, Hate and the Passing of Thomas Kinkade. By Alan Bamberger of Artbusiness.com. Http:/ www.artbusiness.com/art-artists-bigotry-hate-and-thomas-kinkade.html. All kinds of people like all kinds of art for all kinds of reasons, which brings me to the rather sudden and unexpected passing of Thomas Kinkade. How can you be so ignorant? Or is it not OK? Or is it OK for other people to like other art?
