September 28, 2008, 3:40 pm. Pattern Motifs: A Sourcebook. One of my favorite pattern reference books, by the way) and ironically found inspiration in a. But I’m beginning to realize that the charm of a hand stitched effect on anything (a quilt or something else) is in the idea that its done with someone’s hands, and not on a machine. Don’t you find it terribly hard not to study something that’s been entirely handstitched? Can’t wait to see yours! August’s box: I’m lured by quilts. I’m giggling bec...

September’s theme is recycle. October 7, 2008, 4:14 pm. I love September’s box of bits. I needed a hug today (this nasty cold has gotten the better of me) and all these soft, snuggly fabrics seem to be doing just that. I think. Is the perfect theme for me right now, although I feel as if I must admit that there has been some recycling in previous boxes I’ve sent to you, but this one is the legit recycle one, right? Would you believe I just made a purse in that. I’m off to think about what I will do.

February 29, 2008, 3:09 pm. I really loved the materials you sent for COZY*, and started thinking about layered organic shapes just about as soon as I opened the box. I worked on the little pieces separately over the course of a few days, then had to set the whole thing aside for a while. When I picked it back up, it was pretty obvious: I’d been making a (cozy) box of chocolates. I’d thought I was just being inspired by the shapes and layering of this amazing quilt. So I totally went for it. I think my f...

June 30, 2008, 9:44 pm. I took these pictures two weeks ago, started trying to write a post about them, lost the post in a computer crash, got busy, procrastinated, waited for excellent button inspiration to strike…. I’m still waiting. I knew that I would get an excellent and varied assortment of vintage buttons from you, but I didn’t realize just. Button-themed fabrics you had in stash. (Because, ok,. In this case, I’m pretty sure.). This one is hard! But, it’s HARD! June 16, 2008, 8:44 am. I’m lo...

Friday, May 30, 2008. Friend Friday - Eight by Eight! I have loved each and every back and forth project but I must say this one deserves an extreme bowing of awe and appreciation. The good news is Blair and Daria have great blogs to put on your weekly read and etsy stores to shop! Of surprise color pairing (pictured ab...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Pitching is better than sitting. How cool is this? I discovered issuu a while back but finally had the time to sit down and do it. http://kristenunraveled.blogspot.com/2009/10/announcement.html
Wednesday, October 21, 2009. I appear to have unintentionally taken the summer (eh, and fall) off of blogging. However, although things have been quiet on the blog front, in the real world I have actually been quite busy and have a very exciting announcement. Alissa. And I are writing a book! As many of you know, Alissa and I co-host an online quilting bee called Block Party. I haven't even gotten to the best part yet. We are inviting all of you to be in the book too! Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Um, Take Three? Third time's the charm, right? I haven't been "wrecking" much lately but I have a few pages that I did last month and didn't take the time to post. So today, I offer you the "Create a non-stop line" page. I had a lot of fun doing it! I thought a lot about how I would go about it and I debated weather I should just scribble and then color in or do something "recognizable". Labels: wreck this journal. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, November 27, 2008. She fed me fish pulao. She brought us all ice-creams on Saturday night after the edition had been released. More than anything, she made me speak to Vivek Oberoi. For 4 minutes and 35 seconds, at a time when I was madly in love with him. He wanted to help out a handicapped woman and told me I could text him anytime. I was over the moon. When I handed the handset back to her, I was pretty much jumping up with joy. The string of SMSes she had exchanged with her friends and fami...
