VarSITI Variability of the Sun and Its Terrestrial Impact、太陽活動変動とその地球への影響)は、国際科学会議 ICSU 傘下のSCOSTEP 太陽地球系物理学 科学委員会)が2014年から2018年に推進する太陽地球系科学に関する国際協同研究プログラムです。 ILEAPS (Integrated Land Ecosystem - Atmosphere Processes Study) は、地球システムの大気 陸域境界で起きている諸過程の理解の促進を目的とした国際研究計画です。 SuperDARN (Super Dual Auroral Radar Network) は世界11ヶ国による国際共同プロジェクトです。 南 北両半球の高緯度 中緯度域では、国際協力でSuperDARNレーダー網が整備されて高 中緯度の磁気圏 電離圏研究が進められています。 また、EISCATトロムソ観測所 北緯69.6度、 東経19.2度 に、ナトリウムライダーやMFレーダー等を展開し、北極圏超高層大気の拠点観測を実施しています。
