Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Attack of the Voles! The verdict from our local garden expert: voles. Moles make the tunnels to get the grubs, and voles use the tunnels to eat the plant roots. Voles look like mice but are vegetarians. A plant that can be an annual, biennial, or even perennial, reseeded aggressively and had popped up all over. Monday, July 29, 2013. The $5 Deer Fly Trap. I already had supplies of the blue paint, twine, and Tanglefoot, so the trap didn't cost much. After only three days, there are 30 deer flies trapped by the ball, and not one deer fly swarmed me while at the garden for the first time in weeks. Success! The trap was also catching black flies. Saturday, November 7, 2015. We had the fastest fall cleanup ever today, with a crew from the Community Gardens: Gil Pastore, Sal and Lynn DeGennaro, Anthony Montellese, and Teresa Gallagher. Sal and Gil brought their heavy duty backpack leaf blowers, and Teresa had the brush cutter from the Trails Committee. 10:00 AM. What a mess. 11:00 AM. Det går så himla fort. Tiden rusar alltid förbi och man vänjer sig aldrig att det går så himla fort! Efter att sista studentfirandet var avklarat drog jag till Gotland för att jobba på Ilse Jacobsen butiken som nyss öppnat där och nu några veckor senare sitter jag på Arlanda redo att flyga ner till Marbella och till min finaste hjärta! Jag har även jobbat på lårmusklerna då jag har intensiv-cyklat och jag har också bara njutit av att sommaren börjar komma! Fina Viola i hennes otroligt vackra klänning.
