Black Boar has four levels: Scholar, Free Scholar, Provost, Instructor. Anybody who is accepted into the School and has paid their annual membership fees is considered a Scholar. A Free Scholar is entitled to engage in freeplay at the school. The rules of the salle. The aim of these rules are fairly simple, to allow everybody who comes to Black Boar to have the best opportunity to improve their swordsmanship and to keep everybody safe. Students will always treat each other and the instructor with respect.

We run the following classes across our three chapters. The Military Sabre of the 19th Century was a fearsome weapon of war in the hands of trained cavalrymen from Waterloo to Sevastapol and beyond. Our newest chapter was started in 2012 in Cheshire. The Chapter is run as an affiliate of the School under its own committee lead by Jenny Garside and Dave Banks. Sessions take place on wednesday evenings, with full day workshops every couple of months. The Cheshire Chapter is currently primarily studying Military Sabre. The house is spacious and quaint all at the same time. The ensuite bathroom is excellent, and the kitchen seems to have everything one could need. The house has three bedrooms and can sleep up to six people. There is one main bathroom, and one bedroom is en suite. In addition, at the back of the house is a separate, self-contained annex, which can sleep three or four people and has its own bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchen opens conveniently onto a sizeable dining area, which can seat up to 10 people.
