The canyon was beautiful, of course, and we had plenty of interesting obstacles to maneuver over, around, down, or through. There were a couple repelling spots and one place where we had to jump off a rock outcropping into the water and swim! It's a good thing we prayed for safety before we left! Olsen Bits and Pieces. Laughin' and smilin' as we race through life. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. What a great Christmas! We had a wonderful Christmas! Tad and Kasia came and spent a couple days. Cam and Adri were in and out quite a bit during the weekend. It was so fun to be together and play games. We went bowling on Saturday and discovered hidden talent in a couple of us.very entertaining. We tried our creativity on some gingerbread houses. It must be the great genes that come through Grandpa Bates!

Olsen Bits and Pieces. Laughin' and smilin' as we race through life. Friday, October 15, 2010. For fall break we went out to the sand dunes at the Little Sahara. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a little playing in the sand! I'd never been there before and was stunned by the wonderful dunes everywhere and the number of people who, like us, had driven for an hour or two through the Utah desert to have a little fun on some four-wheelers! What an incredible opportunity to meet the wonderful investigators and members in Chiba and Yokohama! We loved the country, the food, the people, the interesting culture.the whole experience! Last December I was approached about being a Leader of 9 boys from my stake to be part of a 160 person, all LDS, Venturing Scout contingent to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Rinkaby Sweeden.
