Very much treasured by me. My collection of glass cloches is also very treasured. The glass fishing floats from a favourite shop in Tasmania. A calming view from my couch. My cosy little cottage. Saturday, 20 July 2013. Citrus Fruit Harvest. Making Marmalade. My house currently smells all citrusy! This morning in the rain I went out and picked some of the fruit that was ready. Since it was a rainy day I couldn't really paint and certainly not garden. I don't think it really gets much better than fresh fruit covered in raindrops. My tiny cumquats weighed in at 200 grams! June 29, 2015. Is my work a delight? God’s words are alive and active. They breathe life into me when I tend to feel dull. They are like a sword that cuts through to the essence of the matter at hand, dealing with what. The matter with me. These words jumped off the page during a feast of a sermon on 1 Thessalonians yesterday. I’d already felt God’s challenge to stop being lazy recently. To wake up and work harder. To deal with feeling. Then these words sharpened my focus in the context of mothering.

Wednesday, 16 March 2016. I am so thankful for the kindness offered to me to enjoy a lovely 24 hours in this beautiful setting. At a time in my life when everything is upside down and so very frightening. To escape to the peace and quiet of this lovely setting where the night is dark except for the stars was just the few moments I needed. I sat and pondered the future with this as my view.
