Thursday, May 11, 2006. Now I write from Salvador - just got here today and have hooked up with Marinheiro s capoeira group, am staying with 2 english people who are here teaching english to the locals. Will surely be having a go at some regional training tomorrow, then visit the Pelourinho and the angoleiros there, but for now just going to sleep off the 13 hour bus journey it took to get here. Wednesday, March 01, 2006. One very long, fancy dress street party.great fun.don't stop moving, samba next to the bateria, drink beer to keep cool, sing even though you don't know the words. This was one of the various paradise beaches of the south of Brasil, Praia da Joaquina, one of the busier ones we visited. After all that peace and tranquility was time to get back to Rio for Carnaval and a big party!

Buzios was made famous by Brigitte Bardot in the 70s (I think) and since then it has become a popular spot for the rich and famous, so obviously I was completely at home here. Stayed with friends at a beach house, barbequed fresh fish for dinner, was so good to get away from the city for a weekend.

The last two weeks have really been about me and Helard hanging out together, learning more about eachother, and me getting to know his crazy friends and Arequipa itself.
