The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Coming back
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/05/coming-back.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Friday, May 22, 2015. I had to be out of town this week on business. I have long since outgrown being excited over business trips. And, it didn't help that ESK left me, and back in the day, trips with her were always a blast. We'd make time to do something fun and bonding. We'd eat adventurous food. It is tremendously difficult to find good traveling companions. The Pirate Jean Lafitte. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My idea of hell.

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Never say never
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/05/never-say-never.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Monday, May 25, 2015. My cooking style evolved based on what I am curious about, and what I can get locally. I have always liked foods that are particular to one culture or another. I make a lot of Asian inspired foods as well as cajun/creole dishes. We don't eat a lot of meat in our house hold, and the Old Woman generally reserved meat for company. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Proof of my Dominance. View my complete profile. Pictur...

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Southern "ratatouille"
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/07/southern-ratatouille.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Give it a fancy sounding name and no one will notice that you pretty much didn't actually cook. This is what we, more or less, live on during the summer when I can get wonderfully fresh, local veggies for a song. This week was particularly good. Keep in mind I don't really measure and I use what I have at hand, so feel free to throw in what you like. Double handful of okra, sliced 1/2 inchish rounds. My idea of hell.

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: On the fence
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/06/on-fence.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Full disclosure, I was hesitant to buy a food processor because I couldn't think of how often I would actually use it and I feared that my salsa might lose some of that "made with love" flavor that comes from hand chopping. Totally unfounded and I love my processor. So, I bought one of these: Slicer. I generally take an imprecise approach to cooking, so why stress over squash slices? Proof of my Dominance. My idea o...

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: In which I learn that I am, actually, a prude.
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/07/in-which-i-learn-that-i-am-actually.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. In which I learn that I am, actually, a prude. We are in NOLA. We have had many drinks and lots of excellent food. We tried three new bars and tiki seemed to be the theme of the trip. Then you have violated the rights of others. Frankly, this shouldn't make me a prude, but I guess it does. You do you and I'll do me but don't make me see you doing IT. My idea of hell. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Oh, The Joys.

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: The down side.
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-down-side.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. One of the down sides of social media is being exposed to the stupidity that is floating around in the world. If not for social media, I could acknowledge that such existed, but not actually have to see it. My idea of hell. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Proof of my Dominance. The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Juvenile delinquents
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/05/juvenile-delinquents.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was also concerned that her children, and I, grow up to be contributing members of society. We were expected to devote our talents to the betterment of the planet. She would not have tolerated any of us becoming petty criminals, felons, or politicians. To this end, she had some pretty specific rules designed to insure that no child (or monkey) raised in her home should be a juvenile delinquent. She would probabl...

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Selfish, again.
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/08/selfish-again.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Saturday, August 08, 2015. Mourning is a long, drawn-out, never-ending process. Well, for me. This weekend, I had the rare chance to spend a few hours with the father of my friend who died two years ago this month. He and I are working on a couple of projects, truth be told, are all about making sure my friend doesn't just disappear. Where is the line between keeping a legacy alive and violating everything someone stood for? My idea of hell.

The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Where I show my own Sheldon Cooper side. I was a speaker at a local association of some group of professionals tonight. I arrived early to set up my presentation materials and chat with the event organizers. As we made small talk, I found that I made mention of various research articles I'd read . I quipped that I read a lot of research on a variety of subjects. It's the monkey-nerd in me. The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale: Favorite conversation
http://thesuperbongo.blogspot.com/2015/07/favorite-conversation.html
The Super Bongo: A Monkey's Tale. Quietly taking over the planet. Monday, July 20, 2015. When I was a young monkey, the Old Woman and I had a regular game/conversation that kept us occupied when standing in line or sitting in a waiting room . . . well two . . . the first was creating elaborate plans for if we won millions and millions of dollars in the lotto or publisher's clearing house. The other is probably better left to another post. There is a new place we plan to try, Latitude 29. My idea of hell.
