Elements Shiatsu-therapie brengt balans aan. De basis voor mijn behandelingen zijn de vijf elementen. Deze elementen moeten goed met elkaar in balans zijn om je lekker te voelen. Als je hierin onbalans hebt ga je dat merken als een klacht of een onduidelijk en onprettig gevoel. Wu Xing - De vijf elementen. Voor de diagnostiek maak ik gebruik van de meridiaan- en orgaanleer, de theorie van Yin en Yang en vooral van de vijf elementen. Op deze laatste is dan ook mijn bedrijfsnaam Elements gebaseerd.

Shiatsu: drukken met de vingers. Shiatsu is gebaseerd op de traditionele Chinese geneeswijzen, die al duizenden jaren oud zijn. Het is een massagevorm waarbij de therapeut met de vingers druk uit oefent op de energiebanen in het lichaam (meridianen). Manon Smits-Acket studeerde af aan het instituut Qing Bai /Shu Ha Ri als Shiatsutherapeut. Zij volgt het vakgebied en de vernieuwingen daarin via periodieke bijscholingscursussen. De opleiding wordt erkend door de Vereniging voor Natuurgeneeskundig Therapeuten en de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Traditioneel Chinese Geneeskunde Zhong.

Wat gebeurt er bij een behandeling. Een Shiatsu behandeling duurt ongeveer een uur. De behandeling vindt plaats op een zachte mat (futon) op de grond. De massage wordt door de kleding heen gegeven. De intensiteit van de behandeling wordt helemaal afgestemd op uw situatie van dat moment en kan per keer verschillen. Het aantal behandelingen varieert meestal tussen de vier en tien. Ontspanningsmassage kan natuurlijk langer worden voortgezet.
