Here you can see some of the damage that the building has sustained over the years, caused by earth tremors, being blasted by artillery shells, the ravages of the climate and just normal wear and tear. In 2008 I volunteered to restore the damaged wall paintings in the Greek Orthodox Church of St Nicholas in Beit Jala. This is a church built in 1925 on the site of the cave in whcih St Nicholas (the real Father Christmas) lived in the 4th century. Since then I have worked for various churches and communities, in Palestine, Israel and Jordan.
