Worshippers give them a spin as they go by. People who need blessings can have their names put inside. Here is a ger set up in a empty field right in the middle of Ulaanbaatar. A cute little Mongolia girl. We went shopping at the "Zax" or black market. You can find just about anything there- if you can find it!

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Clair and I went shopping at a cashmere outlet. Mongolian produces a lot of cashmere and also makes beautiful carpets. Monday, August 9, 2010. July - Finally summer! We got a new mission president, President and Sister Mecham. We were sad to say goodbye to the Andersens, but look forward to working with the Mechams. The biggest holiday in Mongolia is Naadam. It is a celebration of Mongolian culture. They typically eat Khoshuures - a fried dough pocket containing mutton or sometimes potatoes or other vegetables. Monday, October 4, 2010. September - Fall in Mongolia. It is fall in Mongolia. In fact, it has snowed in Ulaanbaatar a few times already. A couple of weeks ago a group of our English students (Dr. Bayankhuu, wife, daughter, and nurse) took us hiking up the tallest mountain around Ulaanbaatar. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Our trip to Hong Kong and China. In January we were privileged to go to Hong Kong as chaperones for 20 Mongolians who were going to the temple. We flew to arrive ahead of them and prepare for them. They traveled by train- taking 72 hours to arrive. Many of them received help from the temple patron funds to make this trip.
