Monday, July 9, 2012. On the Cotton Castle, as the Turks call Pamukkale. Pamukkale means cotton castle in Turkish. The city has hot springs that have healing minerals. We were not allowed to wear shoes on the castle. One of the Pamukkale pools. The spring waters have some mineral called calcium or something that cause terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. The terraces are called travertines. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. We are gonna die! When we got on the boat, my first words were "is something wrong with the air-conditioning? The air-conditioning was not on. Papa (my grandfather) said a man was going to deliver new batteries in a few minutes. He did. After that, I went to sleep. While I was asleep they moved the boat to another place. We are going to die! Tutu drove the boat. Papa put up the sails and the boat tipped way over. I started screaming "we are going to die! We are gonna die!

Saturday, August 6, 2011. Naxos - the Mexican food place! We went to Finikis after Delos. My parents and I went to town to explore. We bought something for my baby brother and the shop owner gave me a gift. They do that here. He said it was for me to remember the island of Syros. He gave me a tiny boat. Sunday, July 17, 2011. It is fun if Papa doesn't go too fast! Motoring the last bit. Finally the wind wasn't too bad so we left. We sailed really fast back to Kythnos island. Sailing fast is a little scary, but I liked it. We went back to the bay and beach that we liked so much before. Papa took us to the beach to play after the sun wasn't so hot. Sunday, August 5, 2012. The trade harbor. The breakwater is about 2700 years old and still there on the right side. The other side of the breakwater has collapsed and is underwater.
