My Life in Holland. Saturday, April 11, 2009. So today is day two of our kitchen revamp. Yesterday, after a long afternoon search, we finally found the tiles we wanted to put on the wall. We ended up getting floor tiles! Less shiny and more robust than the usual kitchen tiles. I hope it works! Almost anything is better than the icky color that the tiles are now. My Life in Holland. Friday, April 17, 2009. This is how the kitchen looks now. Improvement is coming in bits and pieces accompanied by aches and pains from my husband. Thankfully we've been fed at friends and family over the last couple of days, so there has been no more need for back yard cooking! This picture was taken on United Nations Day at ICS (International Community School of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia). My Life in Holland. Friday, February 15, 2008. Well, I've got a job on March 1st! This picture is of the inside of the building I'll work in. It used to be a bakery, so there used to be all kinds of delicious cookies and cakes placed in the wooden shelves. I like the look of the place, it has a sense of history. Next week we will have a number of people helping us out. Thank goodness for friends! It Definately is a foot in the door! What kind of organisation is it? And what will you be doing?

We had a bit of a lavatorial disaster day. First the oldest daughter decides to help by putting new loo paper on the roll thing (holder? What do you call those anyway? The whole new roll ended up in the unflushed loo. So that went straight into the bin. Later on that same day I hear a crash and then the inevitable shout of "Mummy". The loo seat on the downstairs loo had come of. Sheared off. How on earth did she manage that? I have taken this into consideration but have decided to opt for a new seat.

Britain has a shortage of secondary school teachers. Especially science teachers, maths, IT, RE and modern languages. So, basically most subjects except PE and drama. Většinou jsem žádnou z nich nedokončila, jednoduše přestala psát nebo jsem si určitý příběh naprosto rozmyslela. Pak je tady otázku typu: O čem? Bude je to bavit? Má to vůbec cenu?
