Gigi Loves Paris: August 2010
http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 26, 2010. Wistful - Searching for Jane Austen Pt.2. A year ago July, I was in the south of England with my mother and we visited Jane Austen's cottage in Chawton. Jane Austen didn't write for 10 years. Her father had died. She was suddenly, in the despair, came a cottage given to her mother, herself, Cassandra and a friend by Edward, her brother. Suddenly, in this peaceful place, she could sit at the window, watch the traffic, the passersby, the fields across the way. If you enjoyed this...

http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2011/03/one-for-irish-boxer.html
Saturday, March 26, 2011. One for the Irish: THE BOXER. I realize that St. Patrick's Day is over and all Irish celebration along with it. However, this month cannot pass into nothingness without my official ode to this (perhaps my favorite) movie. The characters in this movie are so astonishingly real and moving. They stay with you forever. Daniel Day Lewis, Emily Watson. The Boxer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). CHECK OUT MY FAMOUS REMINGTON STEELE VIDEO. Click on the pic to go to the MTV article.

Gigi Loves Paris: Top Halloween Movies For Cold and Stormy Night.
http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2010/10/top-halloween-movies-for-cold-and.html
Thursday, October 28, 2010. Top Halloween Movies For Cold and Stormy Night. I'm not the kind of girl who likes gory, violent movies. Halloween for me is pumpkins and magic and something mysterious in the air. And Halloween is not Halloween without these three FABULOUS films. Practical Magic is delicious Halloween fun. And every time I curl up with my cocoa, I want. Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock's hair, their. Magical powers and THEIR HOUSE! The house in San Juan on the Puget sound. Svea Muse in the Fog.

Gigi Loves Paris: January 2011

Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Come On People - Romance Novels - Admit it already! I'm having a problem. The only book I've been able to stomach in the last three months has been a romance novel by Julia Quinn. And I read it in one night. I wish I could say this hasn't happened before. But that's not all. What is this power they hold? I don't like other romance authors, can't bear the idiocy and yet, say Julia Quinn and I'm a slave for you! Why are the books impossible to put down? Gigi Loves Paris: September 2010

Thursday, September 9, 2010. The Fantastic Return of Nanny McPhee! I loved this movie. I mean - truly. I didn't expect tobut some surprises are so lovely. If you saw the first Nanny McPhee, you know that it is all about whimsey and magical mayhem. But the second is quieter, more grounded in reality which makes the magic so much lovelier. More Nanny McPhee please! My favorite character in the movie. The children in this film are absolutely believable portraying. Saturday, September 4, 2010. Watch "The Ten...

Gigi Loves Paris: I Met Kate Morton!
http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-met-kate-morton.html
Wednesday, December 8, 2010. I Met Kate Morton! First, let me say, that I've been a dismal blogger, completely failing in my planned Halloween/ Thanksgiving/ Christmas rants. However, I'm repenting of my absence now by telling you all that last night I MET KATE MORTON, author of "House at Riverton", "Forgotten Garden" and most recently, "The Distant Hours.". Her and JK Rowling. But I digress. So I looked. On Sunday night. She was scheduled - on TUESDAY! Oh how the logic and reason tumbled together with l...

Gigi Loves Paris: It Feels Like a Charles Dickens night...
http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2010/12/it-feels-like-charles-dickens-night.html
Friday, December 17, 2010. It Feels Like a Charles Dickens night. In 1843, Charles Dickens had writer's block. Anyone who's ever started and restarted and thrown away and screamed to the Heavens for some kind of answer know what horror is contained in those little, tiny words:. And it got him thinking. We all have our favorite versions, of course. And aren't we fierce about defending our "Scrooge" as the greatest? And what of "Scroogie"? Charles Dickens in 1843. God bless us, every one! Love this version...

Gigi Loves Paris: July 2010
http://gigilovesparis.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. I Want to be Georgette Heyer! Or at least I want to be in one of her novels. I don't read multiple works from a single author very often and yet I find myself at the end of a 4th from Ms. Heyer! I can't quite believe it because every time I pick up one of her Regency Romances, I think to myself the same thing ". eh? Am I really in the mood to work this hard? Of course (I do own every book Julia Quinn ever wrote). So why read this? 2) Be prepared for some serious Regency Romance....

Gigi Loves Paris: November 2009

Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Godmother: The Secret Cinderella Story by Carolyn Turgeon Review. I was led to believe this was a fairy story. The cover, the back of the book, everything led me to believe this was a dark "sorta fairytale" I could sink my teeth into. Au contraire. The Godmother, by Carolyn Turgeon is a look at the psychology behind a fairy godmother who not only falls in love with Prince Charming herself, but ultimately feels better suited for him as well. So how did it go wrong? View my co...

Gigi Loves Paris: March 2010

Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Harry Potter Should Have Ended Up with Hermione. And other things you wish would have happened in JK Rowling's beloved series. Very rarely. Even more rarely with books. I can't even think of another that competes in this equal opportunity cross genres. We all know that Potter saved the YA market for books and may have even saved publishing altogether. While Ginny is brave, there is no other personality except that she gets with tons of boys to get Harry's attention? Um Harry defe...
