Korean Adventures: March 2010

http://eliseinkorea.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. One of our dear friends, Sally from Iowa, is leaving us to get married in the States. We were able to throw her a Bachelorette Party (along with Mingki) before she left! Here's a few fun pictures from the event. Monday, March 1, 2010. As many of you know, I have had to change jobs again. Hopefully, God-willing this is the last time. I will be here another year, and have a better position than before! Having to sign up for another year has created a few future problems. My r...

Korean Adventures: December 2010

http://eliseinkorea.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 25, 2010. My Christmas in Korea:. My Charlie Brown Christmas tree and dollar-store decorations. The finished product, complete with Christmas candles. Even better at night. Christmas eve get-together with friends at a "game room". The punishment for losing the game was getting "bopped" by a stranger (hehe). Merry Christmas from Korea! Love and miss you all. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. After two months of being sick, the doctors have FINALLY figured out what's wrong with me.

Korean Adventures: April 2010

http://eliseinkorea.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. I was lucky enough to stumble across this YouTube video. Teaching you how to do the dance to 2PM's latest song, "Without U." (2PM is a famous Korean band with two English speakers and pretty good songs) Here's the original video. So you can see how it looks when the professionals do it. ㅋㅋ . Wednesday, April 14, 2010. I stumbled across these cartoons that completely explain my experiences in Korea! That definitely happened my first few months here! Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

Korean Adventures: Subbing

http://eliseinkorea.blogspot.com/2011/01/subbing.html

Tuesday, January 11, 2011. I got to work at a university today! My friend was sick and needed a substitute for her class at her university. Obviously, it was only temporary, but it was so nice! It was a really great change from teaching little children. Honestly, the college students' levels were lower than my 2nd graders. but their participation was so much better! I really hope I can work with teaching adult students in the future! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Keep up with Me!

Dear Carrie: August 2010

http://notestocarrie.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

The one good thing about not seeing you is that I can write you letters. Friday, August 20, 2010. Virginia and D.C. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was so fun! On Sunday, friends dropped us off at our hotel in D.C. on their way to the airport. We got there at 8am and it was so strange to have the first impression of the city during probably the only time anyone sleeps around there! On Sunday we saw:. The White House (no tour- just the outside). On Monday we saw:. The Library of Congress.

The one good thing about not seeing you is that I can write you letters. Monday, January 30, 2012. Pinned it and did it- Pizza alternative. As you know, I recently entered the world of Pinterest. This is mine. Inspired by another blogger's post. I wanted to try to avoid some common Pinterest pitfalls (i.e. falling in love with things I can't have). To that at end, this weekend I tried something I pinned! And this is how the Fields version turned out: (I like cheese. Andrew likes pepperoni.). I came away ...

The one good thing about not seeing you is that I can write you letters. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Hello Spring and New Passport. Happy first day of Spring! It is hot, hot, hot and fabulous here in Chicago. I am celebrating Spring by taking long bike rides and walks and opening our windows to let out all that yucky wintery air. My first passport- 1999 (age 13). Sweden/Norway- Summer 1999- Camped above the arctic circle; enjoyed 24 hours of daylight. Second passport - 2005 (age 19). Excited to see where th...

The one good thing about not seeing you is that I can write you letters. Friday, February 24, 2012. In February I . . . Watched" the Superbowl and ate pizza with friends (but really I was just snuggling with their baby girl the whole time). Attended a murder mystery dinner party (set in 1969) and was extremely relieved not to be the murderer in the end. Voted in deacons and elders at our church. Visited a church in the Puerto Rican neighborhood of Chicago and worshiped in English and Spanish. A CUP OF JO.

Essentially I am rambling about nothing for the most part. But I generally think that it is interesting! Monday, January 19, 2009. My arm and other stuff. Continuing on from my last post, I was saying that I feel a little out of it being back here. Realizing that I have a limited amount of time here makes it hard to buckle down to work and since the pace of work here is quite slow I find that I have a large amount of down time in which to dwell and anticipate the future. No, I think not. So I came back, ...
