No, not district 9 from the Hunger Games, and no, nothing about it is reminiscent of the novel (however great it may be). While Lethem is the main city, it hardly qualifies as a city. I would describe it more as a large village. There are a few thousand people living there, and seemingly hundreds of goats roaming around. Goats wandering the streets of Lethem. We spent some time walking around, getting acquainted with the town.

Trials and Tribulations of Volunteering in Georgetown. I have just returned home from an amazing day trip to one of Guyana’s eco-tourism resorts, called Arrowpoint. It was fantastic! The day began at the horrific hour of 6am where in true Guyanese style we waited for an hour and then hopped on the bus and headed out to Tumeri.
