Adventures in McClell-Land

Thursday, February 3, 2011. Come and see us in the Park Trades Center at 326 W Kalamazoo Ave. Lots of great stuff, also including an exhibit from the wonderful and talented Thom Peters. The third floor will be hoppin'. No pun intended. The kids are well. I thought I should throw that in there, since they are the real reason that you keep coming back to this blog. They are, in fact, the reason I write it, so it's only fair, I suppose. :). Monday, January 24, 2011. Zachary decided to skip lunch today, or s...

Adventures in McClell-Land: September 2010

http://www.elizabethmcclelland.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 22, 2010. What a day. Preschool? Check At least Zachary isn't quite as grumpy today because he got to bring Mr. Bear home. Mr. Bear is the class "pet" that each child gets to bring home the night before their "special helper day". They are supposed to take him on an adventure of sorts, write about it in the Mr. Bear book and bring him back to school the next day. Me: Zachary, are you excited that Mr. Bear is coming home with us? Me: What are we going to do with him? Off to make dinner.

Adventures in McClell-Land: The Tiger

http://www.elizabethmcclelland.blogspot.com/2010/11/tiger.html

Wednesday, November 10, 2010. All is well at the homestead. All except the fact that Zachary has recently decided that he is the boss. Me: You are NOT the boss. Who is the boss? Zachary: We all can be the boss. Me: No sir, you may not be the boss. Zachary: But I like to be the boss. Me: Then you will like to sit in timeout. Zachary: But I don't like to be the boss. Adventures in McClell-Land: March 2010

http://www.elizabethmcclelland.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 25, 2010. I am sick. It's official. And, of course, its on the night that my husband is working late. Well, Mr. Man is helping himself to the freezer, so I'd better run. Chat soon. Monday, March 8, 2010. Life is good. The sun is shining. I can't complain. Everyone in my house is pretty much healed. Elaina's pink eye keeps coming and going. We thought it was gone and it started again yesterday. Go figure. Zachary told me the other day the Christmas is coming. Zachary: Yeah, Santa is coming.

Adventures in McClell-Land: January 2011

http://www.elizabethmcclelland.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. Zachary decided to skip lunch today, or so I thought. I offered him ravioli and he declined. Apparently he wasn't hungry after the three yogurts and four pounds of fruit he consumed for breakfast. I didn't really think twice about it. About an hour later I saw him walking around with a sandwich. I wasn't sure where it came from, but it looked less than appetizing. Me: What are you eating? Me: Where did you get it? Zachary: I made it. Sandwich. And he ate the entire thing! Me: Be...

The Veltema Family Blog: Aubreeism

http://veltemafamilyblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/aubreeism.html

Friday, August 10, 2012. Aubree lost her first tooth while we were camping last weekend. Lucky for her, the tooth fairy was able to find us at the campground, and leave her some money in exchange for her tooth. She didn't really seem too excited about the tooth fairy coming, but apparently it has been on her mind. Aubree: "I lost my nail, so I took it and put it under my pillow last night. But the nail fairy didn't find it. There was no money. Isn't there a nail fairy? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Veltema Family Blog: Ethiopia: Day 2

http://veltemafamilyblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/ethiopia-day-2.html

Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Some of the little tukuls we passed. Part of the beautiful grounds at Common River. Once we had finished our buna, we all got back into the van and drove to the place we would be staying for the night. We made arrangements to stay with an organization called Common River. This is where the students eat lunch. When our tour had ended, we went back to our tukul to wait for dinner. The staff brought hot water for our "shower" so we could freshen up. One of the classrooms. Before long...

Saturday, May 12, 2012. Still in Aleta Wondo. We woke up to a bright and sunny morning, which seemed extra bright after being in our very dark tukul. I was really surprised at how well it kept out any amount of light. The Common River. One of the staff members showing us the coffee field. The very sweet Common River staff. Monday, February 6, 2012. Hippo watching on Lake Awassa, Ethiopia. Just before leaving the orphanage. Scared girl in her pretty embassy dress. The last leg of our long journey home. First trip to the mall. She also got her ears pierced that day! First time riding without training wheels! First time writing her name independently. Taking care of Reed. First day of preschool. Aubree expresses her feelings with complete confidence.". Aubree is very confident in who she is, which such a delight.". Brandon an...

The Veltema Family Blog: November 2013

http://veltemafamilyblog.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 28, 2013. I witnessed something truly amazing tonight. It's one of those full circle moments that doesn't happen all too often in life. Where things come together, line up, and just make sense. I hesitated in writing about it because this story is not my own. I am just blessed to have watched it all unfold. But I think it needs to be shared because it is a beautiful story of redemption. Tell her to never stop singing. Sing always.". Never Once" - Matt Redman. Knowing that for every step.

Friday, November 16, 2012. Five Kernels of Corn. It's been a long while since I've felt much inspiration to create a blog post. Between the general busyness of life and my kids interrupting my every thought, it just hasn't happened. Until just now, while I was folding laundry and watching the Today Show. Can you imagine what poverty looks like among the other 84%? How did we lose sight of this? Has that ever happened to you? When was the last time you were deathly ill, and couldn't see a doctor? Pay It Forward

My friend Kevin Lindgren recently introduced me to a great article, Aweber VS. Trafficwave, written by Mike Hobbs, that compared 2 different autoresponders. An autoresponder is an automated mail delivery system. And is essential for internet marketing. Why would anyone choose to switch from the almighty Aweber to TrafficWave? Mike Hobbs lists some of the main reasons he chooses Trafficwave over Aweber below. 1 – Trafficwave doesn’t charge you as your list gets bigger. Aweber only has a tracking system.
