Friday, July 17, 2009. We just signed up to sponsor Bablu thru Compassion International. Ken suggested we do this over a year ago- then we went to a concert where they were there so Barigit got to chose a child. It costs less than $35.00 a month and changes a child life in a huge way. Provides them with education, food and a way out of poverty. We would like to encourage all our friends and family to sponsor a child. Bablu is from India and was born on Dec 21, 2001. Ken had some surgery today on a vein in his leg. they used fiber optic laser and closed off a portion of the vein. it was causing a lot of pain and hopefully will make life and work a little less painful. Monday, April 6, 2009. Jay and Coleen come for a visit. Jay and Colleen came for a visit- we had a lot of fun and went all over southern CA. The Marine Monument in San Clemete. We took them to the La Brea Tar Pits- Ken and I love that place and now Barigit is a big fan too. We took the train to Union station - then took buses and trains all over downtown LA area. Saturday, July 4, 2009. We spent the 4th of July (my birthday) at Baby Beeach in Dana Point, CA. Mom and I took Barigit, Luke and Jack and some B'fast foods and watched the sun rise around 6 am. Ken and Dad joined us around 9am and everyone else started showing up around 11 am. We ate and played in the water but it was a VERY cool and windy day. My face got so sunburned! Here are all the activities the RAU family has planned for the next 10 days- Please let us know if you will be joining us for any of these activities. 5:00 pm- Luminaries lit in Cate-Hyer district. 6:00 pm Caroling and Hot chocolate in Cate Square. 7:30 pm Louisiana Philharmonic performs the Messiah at Holy Ghost ($15). 9:00 am- Ditribute stockings to the needy with the mission church- see photo. 5:00 pm- Live Nativity on wardline. 7:00 pm or so SAINTS GAME!
