Pencil to Paper: July 2012
http://pencil-to-paper.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
When in doubt, write. I'm all over the Interwebs. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Moving Forward and Leaving Behind. This has been my whole day. This is my official last night in my apartment at College Station—this is the last post I'll write here in my cute little apartment. Yes, even with bare walls and boxes stacked on boxes, when I look around I still see my cute little apartment. My life, in boxes. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad. In fact, actually, it's basically all good! Art, off the wall. I have...

Pencil to Paper: May 2013
http://pencil-to-paper.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
When in doubt, write. I'm all over the Interwebs. Monday, May 20, 2013. A Short Short Story. A trick of the light. A strong gust of wind through the branches and he's there. The wind settles and he's gone again. Was he even there in the first place? A trick of the light. Or maybe much more. A glimpse of the truth behind the veil. A brief and fleeting moment of utter reality, wherein he has no where to hide. Wherein you realize— you. Should be the one hiding. But where did he go? From pencil to paper by.

Film Studies and other shenanigans.: "Not that I loved Caesar less, but I loved Rome more."

Film Studies and other shenanigans. Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Not that I loved Caesar less, but I loved Rome more.". On its surface, Clooney's film uses corruption as a framework for the narrative. We all know that politics are dirty business. Or at least, we used to be ignorant of it, until the last 20 or so years. Based on the play Farragut North. It's a complicated issue, and Clooney handles it with grace and nuance by channeling these external and internal conflicts within his lead character. Embodie...

Pencil to Paper: September 2012
http://pencil-to-paper.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
When in doubt, write. I'm all over the Interwebs. Friday, September 14, 2012. Is anybody else still awake? I admit, I took a bit of a nap between midnight and one, because work was hectic today and I was exhausted. But now I'm obsessively refreshing two different web pages, both for the same reason. That can only mean one thing. It's iPhone 5 pre-order day! Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Repeat. I'm thinking I'm going to go for the 64gb White/Silver phone. I think it looks slick, modern, and classy. As you c...

Pencil to Paper: December 2013
http://pencil-to-paper.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
When in doubt, write. I'm all over the Interwebs. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Ring It On In. I'm starting to feel like a broken record each New Year's Eve, fondly reminiscing about the past year and utterly confused as to how the year went by so fast. And then there's the resolutions—you know, the ones you make, mentally or literally, organized numerically or perhaps by bullet point. Many of which you (read "I") will undoubtedly be struggling with before January is even over. Anyway, au revoir 2013!

Film Studies and other shenanigans. Saturday, July 23, 2011. Captain America: The First Avenger. In an age of so many comic book films being churned out like clockwork, it’s hard not to feel like they all start looking and feeling the same, especially with Marvel Studios’ grand ambitions for and Avengers crossover film, which forced all their in-house films that came before it to be tied into it in the big mashup. Film Studies and other shenanigans. Saturday, August 14, 2010. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: Review 4.5/5. Let me be the first to say that watching this film, I realized that the marketing for this weeks movies has been off. The Expendables, contrary to popular belief, is not the manliest movie being released this weekend. That title belongs to Edgar Wrights comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Why? Film Studies and other shenanigans.: November 2010
http://filmstudiesandothershenanigans.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Film Studies and other shenanigans. Thursday, November 25, 2010. Things I learned from my second Harry Potter viewing. 1 The cinematography is stunningly beautiful, especially since I could actually see the damn screen this time, instead of looking up and to the right from a bottom row seat. 2 Dobby's death makes me cry. Hard. And I got misty-eyed in the Godric's Hollow scene. If nothing else, this film certainly packs an emotional sucker punch. Posted by Kevin K. Thursday, November 25, 2010. I was going...
