No apologies for another post on my windowsill lavenders – they are at the turning point of full bloom and I’ve been intoxicated by the colour of the petals in late afternoon sunshine. Not lavender hued but mauve – French mauve of course since they are Lavandula pedunculata. For a long while, I was content with JPGs as the given for photo format until recently when I switched to shoot in RAW and JPG, whereby I can now see the limitations of the JPG parameters and enjoy the scope for ‘developing’ the RAW files in the way I envisage their final result. In pursuit of the photo. March 26, 2018. As the #MarchSquare challenge is soon heading for closure, I’m deliberating on this one aspect of aspect ratio today. Though Instagram has popularised it recently, as Polaroids did back in the 70s, the original cameras such as the Rollie in 1929, were in fact square format. Following the shape of Blackfriars bridge.
