About Bike and Build. Thursday, September 15, 2011. Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. What an awesome two and a half weeks! After arriving in Seattle, I spent a week exploring the town. I did the obligatory touristy stuff like seeing Pike's Place Market. And the Seattle Library. And the Fremont Troll. And the Ballard Lock fish ladder. Look at those salmon go. I went stand up paddle boarding amongst house boats. My friends taught me about kite boarding (don't worry grandma, I didn't try it).

About Bike and Build. Got my bike. It is a Giant Avail 1 - the blue version. Right now, it has all the stock parts and components. Women: 3 sports bras, 3 non-sport. 1 pair of pants (jeans, etc.). 1 set long underwear. 3 pairs cycling shorts *. Bike and Build Hincapie Shorts, Pearl Izumi Ultrasens or, Louis Garneau. 1 B&B cycling jersey (will be provided during orientation). Cycling shoes* (I got Shimano WM61 shoes.). Warm layer (e.g. Under Armor)*. Leg warmers or cycling tights*. 3 pairs cycling socks.

About Bike and Build. In case you didn't already figure it our from the header to my website, I'm biking from Providence,RI to Seattle,WA. I'll be following the route highlighted in green above. The other routes in the picture are the paths that are going to followed by my fellow bike and builders. The dates for my trip are: Mon. June 13th to Sun. August 21th.
