July 11, 2015. After binge watching all of Aziz Ansari’s specials on Netflix, I picked up his book Modern Romance. Knowing only that he was the author, I wasn’t sure to expect from the book. I didn’t realize he’d worked with researchers and interviewed/surveyed hundreds of people. Honestly, his commentary really hit home. (Granted, I am definitely one of the people living in …. June 19, 2015. Editing Goes Global proved to be a great investment. I met so many interesting people (a couple of whom I hope will become friends and mentors). And learned so much. I’ll likely post to my soon-to-be-created Tethys Media blog. About many of the sessions I attended. For now, I’m in recovery mode. Modern Romance →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. And experience told me it was wrong. (For the record, it was wrong.). That didn’t stop me from conferring with friends, colleagues and mentors though. On one hand, while I stood my ground as events unfolded, I still suffered from doubt. Was this just “how it is” now? On the other hand, I repeat, I stood my ground.

Editing Goes Global 2015. May 20, 2015. May 20, 2015. I had only recently joined the EAC. When I met a handful of Calgary editors at our first twig get-together. I knew I’d made a great decision to join the association, I could tell immediately that these were my people. There was a lot of talk about the Editing Goes Global conference. And who planned to attend. I’ve been to quite a few conventions in my time, but they have always been for hobbies. Then EAC released the schedule. 9 am –. 10:15 am –.

I keep having to tell myself I’m not being a bother when I message friends and colleagues in Calgary. It’s strange that being “closer” makes it easier to text and call. Editing Goes Global 2015.
