Sunday, January 28, 2007. In a strange twist of fate, two days after we ordered our appliances, the 1950s-style oven-stove combo fizzled out! We had friends over to watch football, but all of a sudden we could not cook for them. Luckily, sub-standard housing in New Mexico trained us well for this kind of adversity (see photo below). Sunday, November 25, 2007. This November we celebrate one year in our house! We know we still have plenty to do, but we are proud of what we have accomplished in one year. Last year we spent Thanksgiving weekend unpacking, trying to get settled, and figuring out how to make the best of our kitchen until we would get the new one. This year we celebrated the holiday with friends and actually cooked food (green bean casserole and dinner rolls) to contribute to dinner! But we didn't just shop this weekend!
