A picture is worth 1000 words and this one pretty much sums up the cost of living in El Salvador. Exact same Hot Dog from Costco/Pricemart. In US $1.50 with a 20oz soda and in El Salvador $2.49 and if you want the drink it will cost you $1.29 more. While I want to mostly focus on why it is so expensive to live on the mission field, I do want to take a brief look at the first thing I mentioned.
