Inner Music: Blogging is harder than it seems...

Sharing the whistlings on my mind. Tuesday, September 05, 2006. Blogging is harder than it seems. Having your own blog is sure harder than reading others! Hence the lack of postings here. But I loved the newest story over at Elster's Storytellers blog. Some people have such a way with words. They can capture emotion and passion with mere letterforms, and the air shimmers with the pictures their words create. Go read it now. Maybe if I ever get anything nearly good enough, I'll give in a story myself.

Sharing the whistlings on my mind. Friday, September 22, 2006. The Erev Rosh HaShannah Edition. It seems like I only post on Fridays. It's not that Fridays are slower than any other day, but the end of the week brings more gathered thoughts, and recently, a wistful feeling and a desire to be wise. This Friday is no exception. Especially because tonight is Rosh HaShannah. What am I davening for this year? 1 General peace in the world, including:. All that good stuff. Jewish People related things:. Yesterd...

Thursday, July 28, 2005. What Can Brown Do For Us? Quick word on the Larry Brown hiring. What's with all the naysayers here? I don't get it. What, exactly, is the downside of bringing in a world-class, hall of fame coach to take an abolutely dreadful franchise and make them into winners? Who cares if it costs 50 or 55 million dollars? It's not your money. Chances are you can't afford to pay for Knicks tickets at this point anyway. Dolan is picking up this tab and it dosn't hurt the salary cap. Wow - slow...

The medical examiner would be taking Keller out of the car with a pair of pliers. Keller wouldn't be getting an open casket funeral. Not that there would be too many people mourning the loss of a dirtbag like Horatio. Except the dealers who sold him heroin of course. Posted by Elster at 6:50 PM. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Patro...

Friday, September 30, 2005. We Roll and Roll (Help Me Roll Away the Stone). Random thoughts for a Friday:. Wow, this week has been long. Painfully long. Waking up extra early for Selichos (special early morning prayers) really takes a toll on me. Also, my boy has decided that 5:45am is the new 7:00am. Not good times. Posted by Elster at 1:42 PM. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. Take This Broken Wing. My wife will be thrilled, though. This means that I won't have to devote three and a half hours of every ...

Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Story Of My Life. Forgive me for I have sinned. It has been too long since my last blog posting. An eternity for all of you out there straining to hear my voice. So sorry. But my inactivity here is a perfect microcosm of my life. I have to act on momentum or things fall to the wayside. What do I think is going to happen if I do nothing? Wait, I know the answer to that last one: NOTHING. Happier (I hope) post to follow. Posted by Elster at 11:22 AM. Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Ugh Is it ...

Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Wots, Uh.the Deal? Besides the fact that this is simply a great song, I love the fact that it can be understood on many different level - including (i) a love story, (ii) a lost soul's search for peace and (iii) (at least for me) a plaintive cry to the Lord for a return of the Jewish Holy Land (yes I recognize that this last one is a major stretch, but it works for me). Note: Wots, Uh.the Deal? Pink Floyd can be found on the album Obscured by Clouds. Waiting on the first step.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Just a little warning for the regular reader(s). Anysara has hooked me onto this site where for November, which appears to be National Writer's Month, there is a challenge issued to write a novel (at least 50,000 words) in 30 days. As for the title of this post: I'm pretty sure that if I am to complete this challenge, that book (working title: Fireflies at Midnight) will be. Anywho, good luck to me and anyone else who accepts the challenge. Posted by Elster at 11:40 PM. On a ...
