Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Thursday, December 13, 2012. I was informed by my eldest that this is going to be the best year because it's the last of the single digits. I didn't bother to tell her that someday she'll be wishing she was single digits again. And so.on the eve of the 9th anniversary of my becoming a mom.a look back :). And so what is Alexa like at 9? Way too smart for her own good! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Weight/length @ 7: 55.6lbs, 48.75". Crawling: army, 2/5/08. 1st d...

A blog for mamas in medicine and other equally daft souls who regularly slip between different worlds. Monday, November 26, 2007. The patient is a whole person who pees out their meds. Friday, November 23, 2007. No Starving Pilgrims Here. Our locally raised slate turkey. Locally grown cranberries prepped for cranberry pie. I forgot to add the almond flavor so it was a little more tart than usual. Excellent with vanilla ice cream. And tights. So of course the doctor and geriatrics fellow I have been w...

A blog for mamas in medicine and other equally daft souls who regularly slip between different worlds. Sunday, September 28, 2008. How to make an apple pie. The apples still grow even though the press is covered with dust. Make friends with the frogs along the way. Pick enough. Just enough. Friday, September 26, 2008. the lion's den: September 2012
http://thebarstows.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Thursday, September 27, 2012. First days of school. It's hard to believe how incredibly fast the summer flew by. Just as shocking to the system is how fast September is going. This fall had four of us having to be up early to get to school, one of us to take a long drive to work. Not to mention it followed up with a 3-day weekend! Alexa's first day of 3rd grade. 1st day of kindergarten for Jake and Liz. Day 3 for Alexa, day 2 for Jake and Liz - still smiling!

Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Friday, February 3, 2012. I think that was January. I suppose I don't really mind time flying by because it means we are another month closer to September and therefore getting closer to the start of next school year. Of course come September I'll probably be a mess of tears and fear at the thought of the twins going off to school. So what did we DO with our January? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). the lion's den: March 2012
http://thebarstows.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Saturday, March 31, 2012. What an interesting winter we have had. Lacking on the snow which is bummer when you want to take your kids out for sledding, making snowpeople, or attempting ice skating. But when you have to pay for the oil it's nice because you shell out a lot less cash. I feel that I've caught onto all the programs and routines pretty well - it'll be dealing with whatever curveballs the kids and parents want to throw me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Sunday, December 8, 2013. Double digits at last. I'm fairly certain she's been counting down to her 10th birthday since her 9th birthday! So who is Alexa at 10? Well, she's a 5th grader instead of a 4th grader, and did a fabulous job on her first report card - all As. She's learning to play the saxophone and has made many new friends. Reading and writing are two of her favorite things to do. Alexa's at least 5' and weighs about 145 pounds. Weight/length @ 2 y...

Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Thursday, September 4, 2014. School is back in session. School is back in session! It feels like summer lasted forever.or at least some of the days felt that way. I know the kids were excited to go back. On their first day they were all up before me. And I had my alarm set for 5am. They rushed to get themselves all ready to go and were set by 6. And speaking of getting done. 2nd grade for the littles, 6th for the oldest. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Weight/len...

the lion's den: wee bit of slacking off
http://thebarstows.blogspot.com/2013/07/wee-bit-of-slacking-off.html
Peek into the life of a frazzled family of 5. Saturday, July 13, 2013. Wee bit of slacking off. Crikey.has it really been since December? I know what the problem is. It's this little blue website that just sucks you in. You get to be nosing into everyone's business at one time, plus play games. It's awesome for avoidance on face-to-face contact and most especially.the completion of housework. So what has happened in the last 7 months? Liz got her first love note which she tore up about a week later.
