It's been over 2 months since we've been in India. I hate to admit this but it has taken me about that long to get through my photos and video footage. I ran out of steam when I got home. They formed while using a shovel. As a child I acquired similar blisters from swinging on the monkey bars at school. The fun always outweighed the pain I knew would result as blisters. The response is always the same. Sometimes I bring up the subject just to get the reaction. It starts out with wide eyes and gaping mouth. Then the kids exchange looks and say things I can’t understand because its in Tamil. Then I take a double stab and hold up 4 fingers. 8220;You have 4 children? 8221; they gasp.

A visit to the Christiansen’s brought us to Hurricane, (the place where the majority of my life experiences and memories were created) but this wasn’t the town I remembered. Monday, June 2, 2014. Updates ready to be installed. I drop my 12 year old off at Middle school wondering how we’ve arrived here already. I hear my 11 year old daughter FaceTime with her friends in the next room and remember how my phone was attached to the wall by a cord. I don’t read bedtime stories to my 9 year old anymore. Friday, May 24, 2013. Bedtime at our house is a process. It takes far too long to get the last light out. Our problem is my kids LOVE to read. I turn out the light and before long they flip it on and retrieve a book behind the closed door. My youngest, Abi, won't allow a single bedtime routine left undone. Missed several phone calls from my second-grader inviting me to attend "Special visitor day" at 9:15 (it was 10am). My alarm reminds me i am Jennica's "very special visitor" at 10:15. Again, its 10am. I am 20min from school and last night she requested I show up wearing jeans and a nice shirt with my hair done and make-up.really? I only do that Mon-Sat! I do my best.

Although I know what to expect (this being my 3rd time there) I still have the jitters. I experience culture shock every time I go. Life there is incomparable to my life here in the US. Everytime I return to America I immediately appreciate the cleanliness and order that exists here. The streets are quiet. The streets are clean. The streets are animal free. The streets lack beggars. I was driving into town yesterday appreciating all those things but then I remembered I had seen beggars here before! He wore ragged clothes.so did they.
