This was the final day of first round play, and I was looking forward to seeing who the remaining final 16 teams would be. The Saudi Arabia vs Spain match was dominated by the Spanish reserve side, although the Saudis came forward a number of times, and the Saudi keeper Mabrouk made some great saves. I've created this space to indulge my musings and to cover concerts I go to. Monday, June 19, 2006. Togo vs Switzerland was a fair match of two teams that played quite well. The Swiss could just finish up, but there were fleeting moments when Togo shone. I expected the Urkaine to dominate in the match against Saudi Arabia, but I also expected the Saudis to put on a better display.
