I'm not dead yet!: Bring out your dead!
http://lumburbia.blogspot.com/2008/12/bring-out-your-dead.html
I'm not dead yet! I just live in suburbia. Trials, tribulations, and musings of a not so exciting suburban life. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Bring out your dead! Well, not really, but at least consider bringing back a dead blog. Blog I was excited and dejected when I found this blog, only because I was planning on blogging about the silly Choose Civility. Bumper magnets found in Howard County. Then I found that the blog was closing shop and changing to Columbia Now. Embrace hostility in howard county.

I'm not dead yet!: January 2009

I'm not dead yet! I just live in suburbia. Trials, tribulations, and musings of a not so exciting suburban life. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Choosing Civility, one more time. I've become one of them. I really fed up with the cold weather this winter. For some reason my brain remembers my first year down here (we had a really mild winter) and every year I seem to think that we are having an unseasonably cold winter. Maybe next winter will be better. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. I'm all for President Obam...

Free Market: Bobo ethics complaint dismissed
http://hocofreemarket.blogspot.com/2009/04/bobo-ethics-complaint-dismissed.html
Disillusionment with a side of freedom. Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Bobo ethics complaint dismissed. The ethics complaint against Liz Bobo. Was dismissed by the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics. CA is considered a private homeowner’s association by the committee, so according to the committee there is no ethical problem with Bobo using a taxpayer provided resource (her official delegate e-mail address) to stump for whoever she wants for the CA board. According to the ethics committee, I guess so.

A Different View of Howard: June 2008

A Different View of Howard. Musings from the wrong side of the tracks in the third richest county. Sunday, June 29, 2008. I brake for snakes. It's been too long between posts. (If there are no posts to a blog nobody's reading yet, does it make a sound? Longer ago than I care to admit, I was heading home from my dead-end job (well, dead-end unless I want to move to India — that's where all our work is going! Only in Howard County does a snake get not one, but two. Links to this post. Monday, June 2, 2008.

Free Market: Public sector unions
http://hocofreemarket.blogspot.com/2010/07/public-sector-unions.html
Disillusionment with a side of freedom. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. The State of California must be in great fiscal condition. Firefighters there can make $200K a year, retire at age 50 and collect a pension of $180K. In Oakland recently there were 2,000 applicants for 23 firefighter positions. Here is a fascinating indictment of public sector labor unions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tales of Two Cities. Webcasts of HoCo Gov't stuff. 53 Beers on Tap. MD State Board of Elections.

Free Market: OMG look at all of this!
http://hocofreemarket.blogspot.com/2010/07/omg-look-at-all-of-this.html
Disillusionment with a side of freedom. Sunday, July 25, 2010. OMG look at all of this! I do most of my grocery shopping at the Food Lion in Lisbon. Food Lion is an adequate grocery store with great service. No one will go hungry with Food Lion in the neighborhood. However, I visited the Safeway in Ellicott City today and when comparing the selection of products between the two stores, Safeway makes Food Lion look like it's run by the government. Free Market: fat and happy, anyway
http://hocofreemarket.blogspot.com/2010/07/fat-and-happy-anway.html
Disillusionment with a side of freedom. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Fat and happy, anyway. Are down on a TPI spokesperson (Ken Aldrich) for referring to voters as "fat, dumb and happy". So while Mr. Aldrich fails in the marketing department, I think his statement is reflective of voting reality. Maybe reporters focus on trying to report those comments and steer clear of the most reasonable, well-thought-out comments because they dont grab the attention. July 25, 2010 at 8:19 AM.
