memoir | Embrace the Paradox
https://embracetheparadox.com/category/memoir
Embrace the Paradox Original Poetry JA Valderrama. Archive for the category “memoir”. As Real As Anything. How is it that I feel so inordinately. It becomes the sphere in which I work. Tracking the space between us. Reverberating when the distance closes. Never not noticing when you are there. Eyes searching for when you are not. It had become unbearable. The constant simmer boiling over inside me. I thought I had enough of it. And wished it gone because it hurt too much. Like a figment of my imagination.

Embrace the Paradox Original Poetry JA Valderrama. Archive for the category “embrace the paradox”. I’ve been waiting for my baby to wake up. Years and years, we have walked together. Hand in hand, watching the world go by. There is no time, only a state of mind. And I am attentive to the signs. A flare of recognition. I wish to peel away the layer. Like dead skin accumulated. But I know I cannot ripe off the veil. For heroes are a fantasy, the hero knows. Each must come to it alone. That you were starving.
The Animals Know | Embrace the Paradox

Embrace the Paradox Original Poetry JA Valderrama. They can tell the difference. Between empty, walking shells. Who have not yet opened their eyes. And those whose hearts glow. With the flame of life. No, the breath and the beats do not terrify them. For as long as they can see that you see. That there is a soul stirring. An essence keen on the rhythms of the seasons. And the sounds of the cycles, the waves and the echoes. Not just a robot in the flesh. All reflexes and automatic action. We make it so.

Embrace the Paradox Original Poetry JA Valderrama. Archive for the category “poem”. There was that look. What if I had not. Then none of this…. No denying, I had been watching. The way one watches for a rainbow. And it lights you up inside. Because you didn’t expect it. Not really, more like just hoping. For a little magic. The buzz and crackle of current. Running through us and. Not just going through the motions. Not just pretending for our keep. Our egos with blinders on. Steady in some mission. And I...

Just one alum's take on UVA Hoops. Follow me on Twitter: @EmbracePaceUVA. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. So some time during last night's National Championship game, I realized that the game was starting to remind me a lot of Virginia's huge game against Duke back in January in Charlottesville. A few minutes later, when Grayson Allen and Tyus Jones started to help Duke get back into the game and ultimately take the lead, I tweeted this:. Both ...

Thursday, January 28, 2010. The frustration of dealing with injuries. Wow, it has been a long time since I've blogged. Partially due to laziness, but also because I haven't participated in a crossfit WOD in nearly 5 weeks! The family and I headed out for vacation to Mickey's crib and I said to myself, "okay, no crossfit for 7 days. Get some rest and do light stretching. You'll be ready to kill the wods when you get back." Yeah, right! I've completed 3 sessions of PT and feeling so much better. After visi...

Embrace the Paradox | Embrace the Paradox ~ Original Poetry © JA Valderrama
Embrace the Paradox Original Poetry JA Valderrama. Feeling Myself For You. Whether I feed it or starve it. This thing between us breathes. And beats with a life of its own now. An invisible cord that tethers. A bond, but not a bind. Ever so careful, we have been. It stretches, quietly reaching out. To touch us where it matters. Until we are both surprised. By its strength and resilience. And this steady allegiance. That asks for nothing in return. That simply wants to be as we. The slow sweep of our gaze.

You know you want to. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. No One is Safe When Mama is Near. For those of you who don't know where I work, our office is downtown right on the edge of I-35.aka the NAFTA superhighway. As any of you Austinites can guess, its not the classiest. I'm sure I just painted a pretty grim picture of my home away from home, but that is because I had to set the scene to share with you what, above all those things above, scares me the MOST about our office. The Kamikaze Mama Bird. And to be clear, t...

My 4 year old daughter helps me cook every time she catches me in the kitchen. She doesn't. Even wait for an invitation, just washes her hands, pushes out the folding step-stool, and hops up beside me, exclaiming, "Can I help, please, Mama? How could you turn that down? This recipe is so amazing! 1 tablespoon olive oil. Toss c...
