Emerald Acre: November 2010
http://emeraldacre.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Kitchen, garden, and life outside the office. Saturday, November 6, 2010. Where Art Thou, Tubers? My back deck is a shady place. This makes it a lot more user-friendly than one in the sun, given Maryland's hot and muggy summers. Spring and fall, the maple shading it has sparse leaves, making it usable for even more time. So, with the begonias and the primrose out, I started searching the soil for the tubers. Each planter had one - but I could only find two our of five. Where did the others go? After buyi...

Kitchen, garden, and life outside the office. Sunday, October 17, 2010. Visiting the Bethesda Farmer's Market. I had a delightful visit to the Bethesda Farmer's Market today. I was in town working at the Bethesda Row Arts Festival with my sister, and since the Farmer's Market was just a block away, I got to stop by there as well. Wonderful market - just wish I had a cooler with me! October 19, 2010 at 2:31 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Weather Forecast for my Garden. Websites and Blogs I Like.

Kitchen, garden, and life outside the office. Sunday, October 24, 2010. One of the things I purchased last weekend at the Bethesda Farmer's Market were some local meats made into terrific sausages of various types. On top was homemade Chow Chow Relish. Yummy. My sister said that she loves chow chow relish. So. she will be getting some for her birthday! Oh, forgot she reads the blog.hmm. Now to check airline regulations to see if Chow Chow Relish is allowed on the plane to Grand Rapids! Phases of the moon.

TattooDreams: February 2008
http://tattoodreams.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Yesterday I learned my TattooDreams work was juried into the online portal TrunkT. I have also joined Indiepublic to encourage sales of this alternate body of work. It takes a multi- faceted money stream to survive as an artist these days. The end of the Bush era will sound a bell to passion resumed and (hopefully) a needless mess of a war and occupation of Iraq ended. One can only hope at this point. I have the countdown clock on my blog for good reason. 9733;´¨). Over this...

Sunday, March 30, 2008. 8226;Tempe Festival of the Arts•. Martin, this very tall leprachaun came by our booth yesterday. He's a street performer at the Tempe Festival of the Arts. A great sprarkly face and disposition to match! Today is Sunday and I'm back in the room laying low with some sort of intestinal bug. Not able to be at the show, but Jon is there solo. It will be a long day for him, but he's wonderful and capable when I'm not. Good to not be alone. All from here in ginger-ale world! There's a f...

Monday, May 12, 2008. The beauty of Cosanti and Arcosanti out in Arizona continue to unfold. This outdoor workshop holds amazing talent, workmanship and possibility for. Future environmentalism. This was tucked into my luggage and found yesterday. I picked it up when there earlier this year. The following inscription was carved into the student apse at Cosanti. Done by J.J. Johnson, a silt pile participant in 1968 it reads:. SPIRIT, CALL ME SON THAT I MAY SEEK MYSELF WITHOUT TIRING. Such a beautiful poem!

Monday, February 16, 2015. Sometimes, long after words are written, they are found. Such is the case with a blog entry I made back in 2008. Today I received a beautiful note from one of my readers. They had come across this poem which was cast into stone at the Cosanti Bell Foundry. I included the poem in my 2008 blog entry. Turns out, this poem was in my readers grandmothers' possessions. The poem was cast by a worker there in 1968. SPIRIT, CALL ME SON THAT I MAY SEEK MYSELF WITHOUT TIRING. When the wor...

I did the full term, 12 years of Catholic school. I actually enjoyed and it and it may well have provided me with a sense of humor being raised around people who took everything so seriously. Some of the nuns I had could have used sex. Way too uptight. Then again, they obviously took the abstinance thing pretty seriously back then! What did they eat?

Friday, October 31, 2008. On the Mississippi Delta. This evening finds us in historic Memphis Tennessee, for one of our last shows of the year. To be here, at this historic time in history, a place of Civil Rights battles and the heart of the blues, as Barack Obama is poised to possibly be our next president, is amazing. History is about to unfold with a man capable. Of ushering in the change so desperately needed. These are tumultuous times for a country such as ours. As a person who, although not leavi...

Emerald Ace - adrift in the world of Burlesque
Emerald Ace - adrift in the world of Burlesque. Follow the exploits of rubber-faced, Nottingham based burlesque half-wit Emerald Ace as she tries to become a better burlesquer. Thursday, 24 April 2014. My Personal Burlesque Crisis. As discussed on several other UK burlesque blogs, it seems as though many performers minted, as I was, in the mid 2000s are questioning burlesque, its development and where they fit in. I think, had I been feeling more optimistic about the burlesque scene and my own place in i...
