The Revenge of Harold Miner. December 11, 2016. December 16, 2016. My grandpa died 11 days ago and my neighbor died 3 days ago, i’m still trying to put together all the pieces. I’m trying to sell poetry to a bunch of teenagers tomorrow, someone pray for me. I stay up too late thinking about the differences between creative writing and english. maybe there isn’t a difference, maybe there was never supposed to be. You can do that on the bus ride home today. This poem made a lot more sense in the shower....

Because our dads need to get one more picture. Before we turn out just like them. And our mamas fix our hair and wipe our faces. And pretend like they never told us we’d break our necks. Because our letterman jackets are already too small. Sleeves too small to fit our hearts. Hearts too small to fit our dreams. To stop the clock.
