A Bird's Life: Foster Falcons
http://tarahikes.blogspot.com/2006/05/foster-falcons.html
Tuesday, May 02, 2006. Clearly, they are going to great lengths to support the bird that is nesting in the wild. My first thought was 'as they should! But as an "environmental scientist" (in training), one has to see all sides of this story. How far should we interfere with nature? On the other hand, it was human intervention that did things like introduce the gypsy moth or European starling and consequently, create DDT that killed the falcons in the first place. Isn't it our responsibility to fix it?

A Bird's Life: For the love of the porch
http://tarahikes.blogspot.com/2006/06/for-love-of-porch.html
Thursday, June 29, 2006. For the love of the porch. Today marks the end of my 7th week @ SNP an I'm amazed how it's flying by. Of course I miss Andy, Lucy and Ethel and the ever so slightly less ghetto house in Ship but I'm not about to wish the rest of my summer away. Since this whole thing is really about birds, I should give a falcon update (just pretend like you care! Posted by tara @ 7:12 PM. G, front-porch-sittin' is a high quality activity. I'm sure that peopl eare falling in love with the Jes...

Days in Chi-town: I feel a lot of pressure to come up with clever titles for posts
http://laneymay.blogspot.com/2006/07/i-feel-lot-of-pressure-to-come-up-with.html
Tuesday, July 11, 2006. I feel a lot of pressure to come up with clever titles for posts. Where has the summer gone? Sunday night we started a new study series (you "Navigators" type people will recognise) it's called. It's about trusting God and others with who you really are, about not wearing the masks we build for ourselves to look "okay". Already I think it's been received well. It's time for these men and women to open up to each other, stop faking life, and just be real. 11 July, 2006 12:00. Oh bt...

Days in Chi-town: Let's not get wrapped up in Independence
http://laneymay.blogspot.com/2006/07/lets-not-get-wrapped-up-in.html
Tuesday, July 04, 2006. Let's not get wrapped up in Independence. Sunday night we went to a bullfight. Definitely a cultural experience. I don't think I'd go to another, but I'm glad I went to this one (I didn't know they actually kill the bull. It's rather unsporting). The rest of the time has been spent here in Rota. Either in town, eating piping hot Churros and Cafe con leche for breakfast, or on the beach hanging out. Pictures to come later. 05 July, 2006 12:07. Love you Nav Pals. 06 July, 2006 02:01.

Thursday, June 01, 2006. Hey Friends, I'm glad you've found my blog, and now you know I've arrived safely in England. It's all so incredibly british, I'd forgotten little things, like narrow roads lined with hedge rows, and the limey water. :o). Tonight is the singles dinner/bible study at the house, and I'll meet most of the regluars. A few people topped by the house last night because they "wanted to meet Elaine" can you believe it? Love and Jetlag,. 01 June, 2006 11:45. Well, tell them all i said HI!

Days in Chi-town: And so it goes...
http://laneymay.blogspot.com/2006/07/and-so-it-goes.html
Wednesday, July 26, 2006. And so it goes. My last few weeks in England were of course those good, honest times. I so enjoyed them that I neglected to keep you all informed. People generally avoid risk, so the closer I get to leaving, the safer I am to talk to. I'm ok with that, I just wish it wasn't so. This would have been a separate post if I'd thought about it). Back to our usually scheduled program:. Front row L to R:. Val, Lea, me, Carol, Jody, Kelly. Back L to R:. So, back to Amreica. Why didn't i ...
