New Library Science Student - Library Grrrls
http://library-grrls.livejournal.com/864340.html
Thu, May. 29th, 2014, 03:52 pm. New Library Science Student. Hello I am a new library science student, and I'm having trouble deciding which direction I want to go in the library science field. I begin grad school in August, and am looking into researching some of my options. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Fri, May. 30th, 2014 04:36 am (UTC). I think you need to begin with what drew you to library school. I imagine something did. Was it a desire to be in academia? Or geeking out with teens?

Need a volunteer for a survey! I'm writing a paper on the future of library services for a class on public libraries. I'd like to focus the paper on the future of cataloging in public libraries. I need a volunteer to fill out a survey for this class. It should take you about 15-20 minutes- I just need your email address so I can send it as an attachment. A few things I need from any participant:. 2 You need to have your Masters degree in library science. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post.

Multiple thesauri in catalog: catalogers
http://catalogers.livejournal.com/28794.html
Multiple thesauri in catalog. Do authority control in a VERY large library system which has both research and circulating collections. Any suggestions for handling multiple thesauri in one catalog? We get MARCIVE records for GPO documents that may have headings for many different thesauri (MESH, NASAT, DICT, LCSH, for example). We have also started using GSAFD Genre headings in conjunction with LCSH as appropriate. Anyone involved in creating crosswalks? Post a new comment. We will log you in after post.

Ereaders: catalogers

My library is purchasing six Nooks that we will fill and circulate to patrons. We're a tiny library, and I'm the only cataloger on staff so I'm appealing to you people. Any ideas how to approach writing a record for these things? Each nook will have an assigned genre or subject- children's, youth, mystery, best sellers, ect. Post a new comment. I've been away from LJ for awhile, so when I came to this board hoping to post and ask for some guidance, I was surprised to see how few posts there were. Have the people here become more quiet, or is there another group that people use instead.or is it true that LJ is just becoming less relevant? No disrespect intended.I guess I'll get my answer to this question when I see how many people reply over the next few days. :). Posted on Feb. 19th, 2015 at 09:56 pm. please help!: saw2

I'm looking for these stories to use in an academic paper. I'm writing about fairy tale retellings and although the stories Jigsaw retells, as I saw from another site, are not the ones I'm analyzing, I do want to tie the horror movie into the paper. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post.
