Monday, 20 June 2011. 8216;Under Milkwood’ is one of those plays that you’ll either love or hate; and unfortunately I was under the latter of the two. The piece is based on Dylan Thomas’s 1954 radio play, which is immersed with a variety of different characters whom all live in the welsh village of Llareggub – a fictional town which cleverly spells ‘bugger all’ backwards. It is far to say that without the use of the sound affects woman the entire of piece wouldn’t. Monday, 23 May 2011. The storyline was ...

Theatre Reviews: May 2011

http://www.emilybarraball.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Monday, 23 May 2011. Here is a discussion between me and Jess on Ion. The storyline was complimented by the untraditional use of space. Although the storyline was lost sometimes, the way in which the diector chose an unconventional route made up for it, making it a enjoyable short piece. If there was one play I would reccomend for everyone to see this year, it would be this amazing adaptation of Frankenstien. Danny Boyle directed this masterpiece, and it had you gripped from the very beginning; from ...

Theatre Reviews: January 2011

http://www.emilybarraball.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Friday, 21 January 2011. A teaser for Lily through the dark (my favourite play we've seen). Snow white and the seven dwarfs. Normally am not a pantomime fan, however this was brilliant but only because of Craig Revel Horwood, who played the evil queen. The rest of the piece lacked the life and substance he brought, especially the audience interaction which I thought pantomime was meant to have! Merry Wives of Windsor. Unlike anything else I have seen, truely captivating and beautiful. With only one c...

Coumas Review's: Brontë - Theatre Royal Bath

http://coumasreviews.blogspot.com/2011/05/bronte-theatre-royal-bath.html

Thursday, 19 May 2011. Brontë - Theatre Royal Bath. This play had a few melodic scene changes and captivating uses of lighting. However, the narrative was rigid and continued to bore the empty seats surrounding me. It would better suit a small venue. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Metamorphoses - Audio Review. http://beccarayner.blogspot.com/2011/04/king-lear.html

Well hello there, this is my blog. I have the great opportunity to go and see plays and experience different versions of different plays! Here is my opinion on the plays I have seen.enjoy! Thursday, 7 April 2011. I loved Derek Jacobi, he definately made the performance. Although, there wasn't alot to this performance and the stage reflected the acting - minimalistic and bland. I was slightly disappointed! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Was it shite or was it alright? Ozzy reviews . . .

Thursday, 21 April 2011. Friday, 15 April 2011. This was a shockingly real interpretation of Journey's End, I didn't feel as though I was watching a play but that it was actually happening in front of me. I found the ending especially effective, the cast stood in front of a backdrop of listed names that had been ki...

Thursday, 24 February 2011. Lear 1864: Trial of Tears. What a brilliant performance of Lear, the only one I have seen but one that impressed me (even if i did miss the first 5 mins)! La Vita è Bella | Life is Beautiful

La Vita è Bella. Baroque, Bistros, and Icicle Toes. Our first field trip was to the hillside Tuscan town of Cortona. I previously went this summer when it was bustling and blazing hot–I even recall getting a pretty cherry sunburn.
