Simplicity

Wednesday, May 23, 2012. I can still remember breathing in the warm air of Spring as I stepped out of the house with my girls who were holding the bottom of my dress, as we walked towards the church. I still remember everything about those moments leading up to the big moment. The smells, the emotions, the laughter. I can still taste it all. I don't remember being nervous, however. I remember waking up before everyone and of course not feeling tired at all. I felt like a princess in my Irish Lace gown.

Simplicity: September 2011

http://www.emilycbackman.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 17, 2011. Well my Lucas left yesterday around 5:00 pm for the W.I.L.D. trip up in Canada with several others from church. I was supposed to be home by 4:30pm to see him off and say goodbye. Unfortunately, with the craziness of my job and still at a loss for sufficient coverage at the front desk, I ended up working till after 6pm and not getting home till 6:30-ish. Below we have two 99-cent flatbread sandwhiches from Taco Bell, a redbox rental of "Just Go With It" (it was okay) and my ...

Saturday, November 12, 2011. Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but you can imagine I heard it a few times. Being a front desk receptionist. There was a lot of, "Guess what today is? Or some would walk up to their sign-in card saying, "Eleven.eleven.eleven." and then just stand their smirking at me waiting for my response. It's the weekend. This week wasn't so fantastic. The "Cherry on Top" was waking up Friday morning and feeling a little too rested,. Only to find that my phone was dead and my alarm never went off.

Simplicity: February 2012

http://www.emilycbackman.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. This post is for my sweet brother, Ryan. Today is his 16th birthday, and I believe that's a pretty big deal. It seems like it was only yesterday that he was 4 years old riding around in the basement on his little black bicycle with training wheels. It seems like it was only yesterday that he was calling me "Sissy" (how cute is that, by the way? I never told him to call me that, he just always has. And I love it.). 1 His ultra-dark-chocolate eyes. 2 His heart of gold. He's go...

Wrought and Bought: August 2013

http://wroughtandbought.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Indulge my inanity in recording personal tedium! Has it really been since April since I've blogged last? My sincerest apologies. I always think "Hey, I should do that blog thing I said I would do but never did," and then I watch four more episodes of something on netflix and pretend to do laundry. As I had mentioned back in April, the job has been pretty neat. I ended up moving to a different department and now serve as the Circulation Coordinator for Christian History. Could we...

Wrought and Bought: December 2012

Monday, December 24, 2012. Reflections for another Christmas Eve. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.". This past fall, I took a class called Dynamics of Biblical Change, which was essentially a headlong dive into the practical work of biblical counseling. It was incredible to see not only how practical and applicable the bible actually is. Soli Deo Gloria,. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). PA, United States.

Wrought and Bought: January 2015

http://wroughtandbought.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 2, 2015. I Resolve: Hopes and Aspirations for a New Year. I know what you're thinking. "Ugh, how cliche, another 'new year, new me' post that you probably won't even put into to action because you're all kinds of lazy and whatnot." (That's a paraphrase, of course, unless that is exactly what you're thinking, in which case, YES I AM READING YOUR MIND.). And so, without further ado, this year I resolve:. 1 To lose the remainder of the baby weight and train for a 5K. 10 To raise my daughter ...

http://wroughtandbought.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 28, 2013. January, a month in review (as well as a time to reflect briefly on the events of the past year). For however long Tim and I remain at GBFC, January is always going to be the craziest month of the year. It's a good thing, but as the month draws to a close, we look forward to a slightly slower pace! Here's the month in review. Speaking of my novel, I promise I am still working on it! And, so ends another post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). PA, United States. View my complete profile.

Monday, February 17, 2014. Books, blizzards and Bebbietown. I am the worst. At blogging. The last time I updated was in August, and a lot. Has happened since then. My other adventures (when not working on our sweet Lord of the Rings themed nursery, that is) include my very first and very real book with the definite possibility of publication! Also, blizzards. It has been an icy, snowy, awful winter for PA, topped off last week by a whopping 14 inches of snow. Tim's done pretty much all of the sho...At an...

Wednesday, February 13, 2013. On my hectic life and my proclivity for trying to do everything. What happens when my neurotic desire for cleanliness and clutter-free living collides with the necessary messiness of the moving process? Chaos, I tell you! Wrought and Bought: April 2015

http://wroughtandbought.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 24, 2015. The past few days I have felt a renewed urgency to find a publisher. I'm not sure of the reason, but I assume it has something to do with asserting some control over my finances and meeting the imaginary deadlines I've set for myself. The last publisher I had mentioned, as it turns out, is a self-publisher, and that was a bit of a disappointment. But! I don't want to become the spamming unsolicited author, who quickly becomes known in the publishing community and immediately ignor...

Wrought and Bought: Sehnsucht

http://wroughtandbought.blogspot.com/2015/06/sehnsucht.html

Saturday, June 27, 2015. This past week I had two vivid dreams that have stuck with me in my waking hours. The first I dreamt that Tim and I were about to die. To enter the afterlife, however, we had to step into an airport terminal's baggage claim conveyor. It was completely round, and once we made the decision to step on, it spun faster and faster until we were flung apart, where, apparently, we had entered purgatory. And even these seemingly minor things- like a lost friendship rent by time and distan...

Emily's Film blog

Friday, 18 June 2010. I think its clever how the stories of all the characters seen in the film link together in some way, and how the slightest change in events can lead to such different and serious consequences. The use of the split screen was interesting as it meant the audience could see what was happening in both of the characters lives. Wednesday, 21 April 2010. Emily C. Butler - new york city based interior design + decorating services

Emily C. Butler. My love for interiors began at age 6 when I ambitiously took on any designer’s ultimate job: decorating Barbie’s illustrious Dream House. I styled the three-compartment home with not only Mattel furniture, but my favorite accessories from my mother’s closet. After patterned scarves transformed into drapes and '80s clip-on earrings doubled as decked out mirrored tables, I was officially hooked on design. I am thrilled to work on a variety of design challenges with my clients. While mo...
